It's #Olympic week in Paris, France but it's #riot week, all over the week. People have been surging onto the streets, purely on the rumour that a recent stabbing of young girls was caused by an #asylumseeker. Wrong. The young man with a knife was born and bred in the UK, but who cares about the truth? There's people in the country who want a riot, and they are going to get it, whether we like it or not. Scarey.

The people of Ordsall in Salford went to church last week, but it wasn't to praise, it was to criticise - greedy property developers and uncaring builders. Such guilty people weren't there to hear the harsh words or to answer questions, but important people were, such as the MP and Councillors and, most important, ordinary residents who have had enough of skyscrapers being built and towering over their houses. Worse, the developers aren't talking about a 'brownfield' site - it's a thriving shopping precinct. The firms are saying 'Homes not Retail', but the word 'home' means something that local families can enjoy (and afford) and not at the loss of vital shopping facilities, which serve them well and are not being replaced.
