After trying a fair few different ideas for this remix, I eventually managed to create a really flexible bass patch using Tone2 Gladiator, and decided to let that drive the whole track, chucking in lots of variation, wobbles, filter tricks, glitches and so on. The bassline follows the chord progression of the original and some of the other remix parts layer into it nicely, with lots of dubby echoes, stutters and sonic progression for good measure. This has been driving people wild in my sets for the last 4 months, and I'm happy to be able to finally share it with you guys, hope it does the same for you! x

Monk3ylogic - Basseffex (Hedflux Remix)

Here's my recording from my performance at this year's Collective Delusion - an outdoor collaborative event between a handful of small crews in Melbourne. 

I had the honour of warming up the morning dancefloor for a glorious Sunday session. This set begins with some very weird and wonky bass music, gradually levelling off into some soulful, jazzy and dub influenced ear-candy. Enjoy!

LackLuster at Collective Delusion 2021

I first started out building a studio and producing in 2009 in New Zealand, after many years of DJing for various labels as well as running my own label, Cosmic Conspiracy Records. In 2010 I had my first release on the compilation "Geek Mythology" ; Now almost 5 years, 13 releases on various international labels, and many live performances later, I'm happy to say that I'm still stumbling forward, and recently celebrated my one thousandth Soundcloud follower! I wanted to say thanks to all my friends, fans and family who have supported me and continue to follow my work. To show my love and appreciation for you all, I've decided to offer a FREE recorded live performance for download! The live performance is from Psyland 2014, Canberra, AUS -  it features a selection of my released tracks as well as an unreleased track and was performed live using, Ableton Live, PUSH Controller, Echo Park Analog Delay, Kaoss Pad, iPad,and Orbit Wireless Controller. For nearly two decades, Amani Friend of Desert Dwellers has also been at the helm of the global-electronic project Liquid Bloom. Feeling equally at home on the international festival dance circuit, in the Yoga studio, and in the more subtle sonic spaces reserved for intentional ceremonies guided by ancient allies, the wide-ranging artist collective under the umbrella of the Liquid Bloom project spans distance, time and dimensions of mind.

Yuli Fershtat remixes of the original are presented with a slower mix incorporating the original vocals, and the faster pitched Dub version.
