The Phase Group Mix continues with an entry by close friend of the label and our guest at the TC LK launch this weekend at Spanners, Scottish selector DJ Peanut. 

London-based DJ Peanut is known for her mastery of dark and psychedelic downtempo sounds as well as bass-heavy, dub-wise club fair. She can regularly be found playing in some of the capital's finest musical establishments including Ormside Projects, Spanners, Kindred and The Gun as well as regular trips back north to play in venues like La Cheetah, Berkeley Suite and Exit in Glasgow and residencies on Clyde Built Radio and Noods. Katie has been invited to join multiple Phase Group line ups in the past, either solo or playing back to back with her regular spar partner Lo Kindre, which shows the appreciation we have for her skills behind the decks.  

Her Phase Group Mix delivers exactly the kind of heads-down listening journey through dubbed out, bass-and-noise-driven downtempo club sounds that we love. A great warm up listen ahead of her set at Spanners this Friday. 

Peanut joins Brussels-based selector Rick Shiver and TC LK this Friday at Spanners to celebrate the release of PHASE008, the new album by TC LK on Phase Group.

TOTAL SOLIDARITY - a benefit compilation for grassroots LGBTQIA+ organizations in Poland.

TOTAL SOLIDARITY is a compilation created by the Oramics collective and New York Haunted label. All proceeds from the digital sales will support Polish queer organizations: Kampania Przeciw Homofobii and Miłość Nie Wyklucza, who monitor homophobia and provide support for queer people. They will help us redistribute the proceeds throughout LGBTQIA+ organizations in smaller cities and towns of Poland, who need them the most.

Motoko & Myers are back on FT with a surprise remix album, stretching their Plover b/w Whimbrel 7” (FT052) into 14 tracks by handing over the binoculars to a host of remixers.

“Plover” in particular is taken to techno heights only hinted at in the original by many of the producers, its beautiful melody acting like pure dance information, moldable into shape. Perko, Unknown Mobile and Davis Galvin get super busy with it for all the deejays, Doc Sleep & Glenn Astro (collaborating together) encase the collection in a 3-song suite of a remix, Ali Berger houses it down, Category goes off the dub deep end, and Flora FM goes full Dave Angel ravelife in amazing fashion.

The drowsier “Whimbrel” gets shlazed, low-slung mixes from TMC and Jack Murphy as well as breaksplorations from Gag Reflex and DJML. Bass Clef combines both songs for a complete trip.

A major pack, and survey of some of our music’s finest new producers too. Tip!
