So. Here we are again. A coincidence? I think not. Life needs a soundtrack, we’re here to facilitate. Speaking of, we’re blessed to be joined by Ranma Entero (aka Sergio Téllez) for this edition of self-reflection radio. Straight outta Mexico with plenty to say, the producer, DJ, and all-round vibe consultant sends us packing with a one-way ticket. 
	
Ranma has approached this in a somewhat scientific manner. Strategically formulaic; a composite of ideas with just the right amount of musical abstraction and harmoniously organised to create something that is in all honesty, breathtaking. Pulling on every emotion as if they were guitar strings rendering an audible rollercoaster. The clever peppering of vocal and environmental samples adds narrative to the experience and creates chapters throughout. Unfolding from blissful in its purest form to romantically jarring in its finest form, this mix captivates from start to finish, welcoming each change like a season, or a shift in the weather. Overall a fantastic summary of life in general, it's up to you on how you interpret it.

A leading light of contemporary downtempo and trip hop music, Michael Gunson aka 𝑀𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑀𝑖𝑑𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 has established himself over the past decade as a versatile DJ and with a recent series of stellar downtempo EPs including recent highlight ‘Angel Hours’. His productions explore 00s nostalgia through lush textures, big emotional pulls and referential, playful sampling. Mike boasts a deep and broad knowledge of both classic and obscure trip hop and downtempo music, a delicate grip of energy and flow that feels gentle while being expertly controlled, and an exceptional emotional acuity to take listeners through very specific feelings - hope. Through his production and DJing he has imagined a new sonic world, painted with hazy brushstrokes and tender melodies.

For the first hour, Delphine Demord presents a selection of sonic collages blending spoken word fragments, shifting moods, hazy tones, and experimental textures. Her set flows gently between underwater ambiance and her favourite sun-rising tracks—a dreamy way to step into summer. 

In the second hour, DJ Matin (aka nonmei9227) from “Bientôt Veuves,” now living in Greece, shares a mix recorded with friends on a beach in Samos, just after sunset. A sonic postcard from her time on the island, the mix captures the rhythm of Greek island life and marine bioacoustics, filled with sunlight, crystal-clear waters, deep breaths, shared love—and dolphins.

SONIC RESISTANCE. A Compilation For Rojava.

This is a call for maintaining the international solidarity with the revolution in Rojava. It is a musical interference against the imperialist war machinery, against capitalism. It is campaigning to raise awareness about the struggle of the Kurdish freedom movement.

This compilation of 90 tracks was put together to support the feminist movement in the autonomous area of Northern Syria. All proceeds from the digital sales will be sent directly to the ‘Foundation of the Free Woman in Rojava‘ (Weqfa Jina Azad A Rojava) which is one of the last women’s organization in the area.

Rojava established itself not only in opposition to the Turkish military regime, but also as a grassroots movement redefining the future of the region on its own terms. The Kurdish resistance is advocating for women’s equality, LGBTQIA rights, ecology, sustainability, and democratic confederalism. It has created its own strategies outside western political pressure. The Turkish invasion is not only destroying lives, but also extinguishes any hope for substantial change. The attacking army has superior technology and simply “more of everything” to suppress the revolution in the cruellest manner. We stand with the resistance in northern Syria and the people who defend their autonomy.

In the wake of being opposed to such an absolute violence, we asked ourselves what can we do to support this struggle? How can we engage our community and our skills to defend Rojava? We feel obliged to point out and continue the emancipating history of club music and how it has been connected to equality and freedom movements since the beginning. With the compilation we spread the idea of Rojava through our networks and on the other hand we try to redistribute resources. Although we choose to make music, sometimes very loud and noisy, we can never cease to listen and learn. The revolution in Rojava shows us how deeply entangled we are in postcolonial relations and motivates us to deconstruct existing conditions and structures. That’s how we understand being an ally.

Because the war against equality and freedom is a war against all of us.
