I have been thinking about it a lot and I have decided that DUFFDISCO007 is the last bootleg I am going to press to wax. It's been fun and I hope you all enjoyed them but I think it's the right time to stop. (you can order the last in the series here - www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/450211-01.htm)

I do however want to continue re-imagining songs and giving my interpretation of them for you to play and listen to and so i'll be giving the reworks away for free. I have set up a donations page if anyone wanted to help with covering the costs of mastering future tracks as i'd still want the best sound possible as I can't afford to be paying for it all myself.

So keep an eye out for new tracks! donate whatever you feel appropriate, of course you can still download if you can't afford to donate.

For 15 years Wah Wah 45s have been releasing music with a soulful feel, regardless of sub-genre, many of which have no doubt ended up as staples of your local underground party on a Saturday night. That’s right, Wah Wah don’t just do acoustic soul, brass band funk, dub reggae and foot friendly jazz,  we’ve been dipping our toes in the world of dance floor electronica for sometime and following on from the success of last year’s compilation, we thought it was about time we brought you the second instalment of “Wah Friends Electric”.

Volume 2 continues where it predecessor left off, covering the club friendly end of the Wah Wah back catalogue, from early deep house offerings from Aaron Jerome (the man behind the Sbtrkt mask) and blue eyed disco from Talc’s night club dwelling alter egoes Man / Boy featuring Girl, to more recent outings from Lea Lea, Paper Tiger and Scrimshire. Add to that previously unreleased, and exclusive to this compilation, remixes from The Reflex and Noisses, as well as other homegrown greats such as Stubborn Heart and Debian Blak, not to mention Japanese dons Goth-Trad and Anchorsong, and you’ve got one serious second volume of dance music from the Wah Wah vaults.

Golden Hour (After Twilight Breaks Through)

In France the original version of this track was a huuuuuuge success during the 80's in Night Clubs and Radio shows as well, originally recorded by Patrick Coutin in 1981 at the Château d'Hérouville studio... Patrick Coutin is explaining that "he likes to watch girls walking on the beach..." (translation for "j'aime regarder les filles qui marchent sur la plage...") The track is still played nowadays in parties...
I have taken the decision to do a Dub version of it, in adding lots of effects, overdubs, Keyboards, and a Drum track that could stay true to the hypnotic beat with my personal vision of it....

 D.J. / Remix & Music producer / Sound Designer, Doctor Soul started to play music during his childhood days. In the 80’s he learned Bass and played in Indie Soul & Funk bands for the local scene. He was an active collector of LP’s and 12 – inch in Rock/ Jazz Funk/ Fusion/ Soul/ Funk/ Disco & Brazilian bands.
In 1987  he started Dj’ing in parties as well as on Radio Shows in the Bordeaux area, at that time the Acid Jazz phenomenon started to become the big thing. He became a professional Dj in the early 90’s and he explored more into Hip Hop, with fellow Rap acts such as “Iam” among others as well as in Soul Funk music and New Jack Swing…
In 1993, he recorded and co-produced his first track “Un Style Funky” on the now defunct “Double Zero” label under a Funk & Hip Hop collective and in 1994 he released “La Preuve Par Funk” in the Acid Jazz/ Funk genre. Doctor Soul became more involved in the soul scene and did the warm up for live bands such as the British combo “Izit” he also held a residency in a club (Le Senechal) in Bordeaux from 1994 to 1998. Many years later he held a residency from 2013 till 2014 at “Luncha” in Paris. Meanwhile, being close to the Bordeaux Hip Hop, Soul & Funk scene he collaborated with Tribal Jam wich was the first french New Jack Swing band.
On the musical production side, he has collaborated with many artists and bands from diverse genres even in Jazz, bringing production remixes for the likes of legendary Tania Maria, Jeff Cascaro, Mandoo & Interview to name just a few!
His own musical releases are deeply rooted in disco and funk territory with a modern sonic production touch that can grab attention from the younger generation, as well as from the elder who like to be reminded of the 80’s dance floor culture.
Since 2018 he has been hosting a monthly show on RapTz Radio and on the late night dream.com while doing Dj sets for The House Theory Radio Show, The Midnight Riot Radio, and Disko Knights.
DoctorSoul´s tracks are released on the London based MIDNIGHT RIOT record label, the Berlin based TOO SLOW TO DISCO record label and have reached many times the #1 places in worldwide Disco charts. 
They are  played by numerous very famous known DJs around the world such as: DJ Supermarkt, Ashley Beedle, Lenny Fontana,Mannix Kling, The House Theory Team, DJ White, Tony Griffin, Disko Knight, Humberto Galvàn, Crème De Coco, Jack Tennis, Ursula 1000, Yam Who?, ChuggingEdits, Limpodisco, Ruff Diamond, Disco Daze, Lego Edit, or Rob Hardt from The Cool Million team…
