Alien Heart (2021 Extended Version)

I get songs beamed into my head all the time, no big deal. Sometimes, though, they don't seem to be songs for me, they seem to be for some other artist. They're in that artists' style and I hear that artist singing the song in my head. These songs always come to me completed already, there's nothing I can do but tweak certain lyrics or notes. Obviously I can't sing it in their voice, so whose voice do I use? This song was a song for Jason Molina. Maybe the Muses offered it to him at some point and he turned it down, I don't know. I just heard his voice, his guitar, his Crazy Horse worship band when I got this song. I jotted it down quick today in audible form. I don't know where the hell the Southern accent came from. I don't ever sing in a fake country voice. It sounded different when I rehearsed it. It sounded better in my head when I was hearing Jason's voice singing it. I'm sorry! Anyway, here are the lyrics. I do not think I like them, but this song was offered to me by the Muses, and who refuses the Muses?

Music is meant to invoke thought, not unlike art, politics, and religion. However, because of the emotional ties that the individual has with different types of music, or certain compositions, we as humans are drawn to certain sounds and textures (each depending on our own likes and dislikes). When we as children listen to music, we imagine a whole world that opens up around us, like a magical forest with dancing trees, or we use it for an adventure for our toys to play in. When we "grow up" (as society calls it), we unfortunately grow out of these practices. We loose our playtime and recess. We start working and paying bills and taking medication. My goal, both as a musician and as a Toy Soldier, is to help everyone that hears my music wake up their imaginations. I want the people of this planet to get a jolt of electricity running through their creative centers. That, my friends, is my goal. I hope you enjoy.
