The title "CONTRAST is in reference to the soft, almost dreamy introduction and break in the track, starkly contrasted against the heavy, driving rhythms and sounds of the following drops. 
The initial idea for this track was sketched up in March of 2023. I was walking out of my apartment and locking the door when a simple melody I had thought of the night before popped into my head. I had already closed and locked my front door at this point but I hesitated before heading out to my car to leave for the day. I decided to head back inside and take a quick fifteen minutes to transcribe the idea in my head to Studio One. What was supposed to be a fifteen minute sketch ended up being a three hour writing session as the first section of the song just came together and flowed so naturally. I did end up taking care of the errands I was supposed to handle hours before but returned home that night and continued grinding away at the track. 
Soon afterwards in the following weeks, I became bored of working on the project and focused my attention on other song writing efforts. It wasn't until returning from a trip to Nashville in September of 2024 when CONTRAST received a fresh breath of new life. I had just spent a few days in one of the greatest musical cities in the world and was wondering what my excuse was for sitting on so much music but never finishing my ideas or releasing them (PC performance is a major factor there, but that's a different topic). I started fumbling through my library of unfinished tracks and came back upon CONTRAST. I opened the project and started experimenting with different lead synths and vocal samples to apply over the work I had performed over a year prior. Eventually the idea came together in its final form which is the music presented on this track.
