The Doctrina Natura project was born with the need to experiment on introspective, organic, hypnotic music, a sound intimately linked to nature. With the music released on Secuencias Temporales, Circular Limited, PhonoTropismi, Ordinamento Selettivo, Alexandar and more, Doctrina Natura tells another story, this time with a mix for our series. No. 41, to be exact.

A decidedly odd question rises to the surface of consciousness while watching evening’s sky turn into night. Where in all this cloudlessness have all the stars now hide? Shadows, wrapped in a cloak of darkness, slowly begin their pagan dance. Tribalistic percussions fill the air as the dance unravels into a more erratic, primordial feast. The nightly rhythmic chaos has aligned into a wave of mischievous magic. The full moon rises, leaving the glimmering reflection in the spectator’s eyes and anything but quiescence in his mind.

PREMIERE: Doctrina Natura - Black Stars Above [NODE Recordings]

Too many of us are obsessed with the future. Starting from an early age, we are taught to focus on constantly trying to reach greater heights. Since middle school our eyes are on the prize. Since then, we are looking forward to high school. In high school, the pressure is on to get into a reputable college. From college, we are focused on getting a well-paying job. And now you think, “OK. I’ve worked hard. Now, I can relax.” But no, you can’t. Now, you are working toward that next promotion. And the promotion after that. And the promotion after that...

This constant obsession makes us completely forget where we came from. “The future ceased to exist at the same time we believed ourselves to be gods” says Alex. And we couldn’t agree more.

Alex is the man behind Doctrina Natura’s project. Born and raised in Sevillia (Spain) he combines techno and ambient with a very marked personality. Exquisite and powerful are the first words that come to mind to define his work, where he will soon release a new almighty album on our beloved @oslated

Alex ends up telling us: “We are facing a moment of rebirth, because life is nothing but a series of cyclical events that return to the origin again and again. Nature will decide when and how we will return to it”.

Crescent is back for their first release of 2022 and an EP from Doctrina Natura. Featuring no less than 3 original tracks from the Spanish producer, the beginning of the release is all about slow and introspective ambient atmospheres: sometimes dark with “Wicca”, or light and airy with “Horned God” and “Moon Goddess”. Japanese producer Ryogo Yamamori joins the label for a remix of “Horned God”, strong of a driven force growing like a roaring storm for the entirety of the track. Crescent co-founder Labyrinthine closes the release by returning to aethereal notes, this time with a broken-rhythm bringing a different light on the original sound design.
