2023, the mood was right, and the stars had misaligned just so; I trod down the stairs to the studio, fired up my 1984 tape machine, plugged an old Roland synth/organ from 1992 into the console, found some fat drum sounds & juicy basses, loaded a blank 2" tape on the machine, hit record and let the mood take me wherever it was headed.

There began the journey of 'Technique Plastique'.
The first track that happened to fall from the ether was 'Squeeze Boxer', it's bass and drums dictated the flow and direction.
One sound led to another... and another... et viola, the rest of the album's tracks soon followed. Virtually the entire album was done with the one slightly broken synth, despite having numerous others at my disposal, the sound of this old 90s relic is very inviting and inspiring, so aside from a few overdubs with guitars, and percussion, it's formed the majority of what you hear in this album.
Mostly these tracks are intended for 'sync licensing' use by people who need music for their video content etc, so it's intentionally devoid of lyrics or complex musical structures, hopefully it's simple instrumental hooks may appeal to those who simply want to listen.
All the recording and mixing was done on old school analogue tape, it just captures the fatness of an analogue synth perfectly. It's obviously transferred to the digital realm to get released on here and all the other web streaming services, but there will also be some pure analogue tape versions released for those who are still sufficiently antiquated enough to own a working reel-to-reel deck.
Chef's suggestion: serve with a cheeky red and some room temperature cheese and grapes.

A remix/remaster of a track that I originally recorded for use in a TV show pilot way back in 2012.
The TV show never came to fruition, but the track deserves to be released, so here it is.
