SOLARIA - 1.06 HDVM update test

So, I've been meaning to do something with Meiko for a while now, but I haven't really had the time for it. Then I realised that this song would be absolutely perfect with Meiko, since it'd give me the opportunity to use all four of her voice libraries. For this part though, I'm only using straight.

So, I'm almost done. I've still got some slight polish and tuning left, I haven't completely configured clarity and breathiness parameters, and some dynamics are a bit rough.
The mixing also leaves some to be desired, but I'd say I'm about 75% done now. I'm working on a video and I'm finishing up the translation.

Still working on this track. I'm changing up the tracks in the VSQ quite a bit, but I'm making progress. I've yet to tune most of the harmonies and such, but the main vocals are nearly done.

Iroha V4 - Though I Have No Wings, I Fly - WIP

So I got 言和 quite a while back, but I rarely have the opportunity to use her outside of my personal experiments. Wanting to familiarise myself a bit more with her voice, her phonemes and such I decided to start working on this.

My biggest problem is handling consonant velocity (as I don't have an ear for Chinese) and the phonemes. I'm sure that quite a bit of her pronunciation is off, but I don't really have any good reference frames. I might ask a friend to help me out.

The original song is by DATEKEN.

Stumbled upon a UTAU cover of this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcZvqhiwirY) and I really liked it, so I decided to try my hands at covering it with Iroha. Ever since they updated Iroha with growl and such working on more rock like songs with her is way fun. Is this rock even? I don't know - I suck at naming and placing genres.

So when working on a new project - why not start at the end?
I just had an idea and I figured I'd see what'd come out of it, this is it. I think I may attempt to finish this, but it's a really involved song.

This story has been handed down since the very end of our circling time.

Iroha V4 - Those Who Fall Afore The Name Of God [WIP]

Alright. This track is more or less finished, it's taken much longer than it should but I've been quite the busybee as of late. I've yet to make a video for this, but I'll get that done at some point down the line.

Music and lyrics is by EZFG, VSQ and cover's my doing.

Glucagon - IrohaV4flower

There. This sounds much better than the previous test.
I'm not entirely done, there's one part of the song missing that I intend to recreate. I may polish it some more in VocalShifter, but personally I think this sounds pretty OK, at the very least for a sort-of-kind-of first attempt.

Katayoku no Tori - Iroha

Miku's V4 English library is pretty tough to work with. I bought Fukase a while back and plugged his library in this VSQ, despite it being completely tuned for Miku's English he still sounded much clearer. I'm thinking about possibly making this a duet between the two, but I haven't really given it enough thought to decide yet.

VSQX adapted from KowaiYousei122's VSQ. It's stellar, highly recommend it.

Resonate - Miku V4English

This is the opening theme for Steins;Gate. I watched it a while back, forgot about it, then came across a VSQ for it.
I really like this song. It was really simple to mix. I used a different Yuzuki configuration, similar to the SeeU config I use. As a result the voice sounds deeper and less sweet. I prefer this actually~
Amazingly enough I made Iroha's voice lighter to mix better with Yukari's. Otherwise I typically like Iroha's deep voice.

So I found this bank and I decided to use this song to test her out. Pretty suitable, right?

Hakumei - 日本鬼子 (Hinomoto Oniko)

So I just realized that Sinsy totally fits this song.
She's a real pain to work with since if you want to change one small part of the song, you'll have to re-export the XML and rerender the entire song. Ack!
Some of her consonants are really speedy, so it sounds a bit out of sync here and there. Maybe I'll touch that up later, maybe not. x.x

I know, it's not finished, I haven't even finished the entire melody, AND I need to fix timings (thank goodness for Vocaloid 3 Editor). 
At times I hate SONiKA's pronounciation, but I can probably fix all of it with some fiddling.
Plan for this VSQX.
1. Finish the basics. Melody, speed and inputting the lyrics, and exporting as a VSQ so I can use it in UTAU in the future.
2. Fix pronounciations, be it adding more consonants or changing vowels. >B]
3. Pitchbends. I may even try to use VocalShifter just because it's fun.

As of right now it sounds really flat.
The original song was sung by Lily Allen.

It's not Fair - SONiKA

So I encountered this song a while back, and bumped into it again today, and I thought that Ritsu might sound good in this song since the voice type is rather similar to CUL's.
So I decided to give it a go. Personally I think that Ritsu's voice works well with Iroha, but I wanted to do something else as well, so I added Mew to the mix.

Iroha and Mew's sound is very similar on high notes, whilst on lower notes Iroha gets more powerful and Mew remains rather soft. Which actually works well.

The VSQ/x is made from Asterselene's UST of the song.
And the UST itself is made by Asterselene. It's REALLY good. I wish I could make USTs like this.
Original featured CUL and Gumi and is made by Kaoling.

I haven't actually fiddled with the VSQ anything yet, planning to do that next. I like working with songs gradually, so I do a little of each to see where I want to go with it.

Soo another update.
This time around I've re-rendered some stuff, switched out banks, fixed panning, mixed it a bit more. It still needs automation. I'm far from done with the mixing, but it's getting there.
I think I'll tweak the USTs a bit more and re-render them because it sounds a bit stiff at the moment. Maybe I'll have to use another resampler. Sigh.
Sorry about all the updates, I enjoy hearing my progress though. I'm sure some of you are getting a bit sick of it, my apologies. Hah. (　^ω^)ノ❤

I've been wanting to use this bank for a looooong time.

Small tweaks and improvements. I rerendered a lot of the main vocals, fixed pronounciation glitches, and cleaned up the pitchbends a bit. I still have to fix a lot of the pitchbends and stuff, but it's getting there.
