Pelden Drukpa was first sung at an annual variety concert at Sherubtse College in 1989. Somehow miraculously the song  survived for 29 years. Some students and kids who sang or danced the song are now grownups and parents themselves. The Drukyul has achieved enormous progress under the divine leadership of our beloved Monarchs and the country is going through a golden period. Wished every Bhutanese would be so selfless and dedicated for the country like our Kings. The resurgence of Pelden Drukpa in 2018 is motivated by the selfless service of The Druk Gyalpo for the well-being of each and every Bhutanese - we are so fortunate la. Bhutanese today, especially the youth, must be aware of the hardships and sacrifices made by our forefathers for the future generations.  
I thank my colleagues, Kinga Wangmo and Kinley Wangmo, for their invaluable support for recording the song. This is my only song in this life, which I cherish and feel immensely happy. I am the biggest fan of this song. Kadrinchey la
