The second album from Silhouette, ‘Hůrka’ sees the Czech producer & DJ venture further from ambient music than his debut, ‘Lost In The Circle’ (Krmelec Recordings, 2018) while remaining an artistically descriptive body of music.

‘Hůrka’ transcribes the landscapes of the Šumava region in the West of the Czech Republic into strident dance music laden with field recordings. Although the Bohemian forest, honeycombed with untamed rivers and hills, is a far cry from the dancefloors which ‘Hůrka’ seems primed for, Silhouette’s collection of field recordings encourages the mind to wander to pristine yet foreboding landscapes.

Drawing influence from prime-era minimalistic dubtechno (‘Closer To The Edge) to the darker shades of techno (‘Razor Thin’), house, breakbeat (‘Forgotten Dream’) and even dubstep, Silhouette weaves across the plateaus of modern dance music while remaining faithful to the image of pastoral landscapes that inspired the piece, with field recordings coming to the fore throughout more downtempo tracks such as ‘Calm Down’ and ‘Rainfall’.

The resulting body of work is balanced, bearing echoes of Silhouette’s previously released efforts while simultaneously pushing the project’s sound into new and expansive realms.

With the seventh release of DOLEC release, we welcome our dear friend and talented producer LEAF. With this release called DON'T KNOW WHY we took the plunge into the heady mix of dark mythical synths with similarly gripping, dark and even gothic vocals. think of the philosophy of romanticism and the real feelings that are as indispensable as accepting your sadness..

The organic percussion, dark synths and the LEAF's gothic vocals work well together and create an ominous and dark dreamlike soundscape. This EP all sums up the re-created cover picture of the LEAF's favourite band Dead Cant Dance whos been a big musical influence for his production. The cover's photograph was taken in Paris, at the family grave of François-Vincent Raspail at Père-Lachaise cemetery.

DOLEC appreciates the debut release from Brno based producer, DJ and certified raver Peter alias PLAST. Dramma Orientale presents a varied six-track odyssey that goes far and beyond the conventions of techno, grey area and bass music in general. 

The EP floats up with the ominous underworld tones of dark ambient, menacing snarls of metallic synthesis set against the backdrop of frenetic hi-hats and hard pulsing kicks.

From the hypnotic opener of ’DRAMMA ORIENTALE’ to the wrecking ball propulsion of ’Fun by Fire’,‘ Padova’ or ’The Thing’ Peter flexes his seasoned ability to create ominous soundscapes brimming with momentous power.

The result is a confident showcase from an artist who has found a defining sound and is revelling in his ability to develop it entirely out on his own.

DOLEC number 9 hosts the UK based producer Mat Ranson alias Focal Point. Who delivers a four track ep called Decline of Industry that plays on the urge to dance and the allure of subversive nature. With an appropriately immersive, subliminal approach to contemporary techno, he presents a sound split between various BPM, creeping intensity and dynamic broken sound. Steely, dub-kissed textures and impulses shape out the space, while the drums fall in crisp, precisely interlocking formations.
