The Rain is taken from Dolly's debut EP 'Behind Closed Eyes' which reached No. 25 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts. The Rain depicts life's struggles, the weight of the world wearing down your soul; sometimes empathy can be your biggest and cruelest enemy. The Rain's poetic lyrics and Dolly's haunting vocals create something very unique and enchanting.

This song is about the relationship between yourself and others and the dependency you place upon those people. It is about the conflict between being independent and then relying on others and sometimes how that responsibility, trust, and support, is not reciprocated.

This song is about dealing with inner-turmoil and personal struggles. It is about fighting with the voice inside your head and convincing yourself to look up and keep moving forward and not to be dragged back by yourself to where you started.

This song is about how the people that mean the most to you can also drive you crazy; You can love them so much it drives you to hatred, but their importance will always remain.

I chose to cover this song after an amazing night on Saturday, I thought in homage to the show and Colin and the fans, I would cover one of his songs. I love the lyrics in this song they are very poetic, and I love the catchy chorus, that's why I chose this one!
