Thirty five years of professional DJing this summer! 

I have spent many past posts musing about the early days, so I will spare you words of nostalgia today. Instead, I want to hit you with the kind of set that I feel is an accumulation of my past experiences of what works on a dance floor, what I personally love, and which of those sounds I feel connect with what's happening today. 

Music has largely stopped giving us anything truly new in the past decade, but the absence of newness doesn't mean we shouldn't discover music that is new to US, and sometimes we should also remind ourselves of the great eras, genres and grooves we may have forgotten. So today, instead of giving you newness, I present to you my musical opinion on contemporary timelessness.

I would personally dance my ass off to this set. LMK if you would too.

Birthdays are always a moment of deep introspection for me. Since I'm turning 30, I'm reflecting a lot on the past decade that went by so fast. 

I feel incredibly lucky for everything that happened to me over those past 10 years. It was filled with love, friends, travels, adventures and intellectual challenges. And of course music.

Here is a selection of deep groove that made me really happy this year. We've had a crazy cold winter in New York. But even in the worst days, I would play some of those to teleport myself to a remote beach. 

To the next decade of groove!
