Close crew associate and Bristol resident Holsten asserts his presence in the latest instalment of UVB-76’s sister label Droogs. A resonant echo of noughties Drum & Bass reverberates across the release, sounding silhouettes of Dylan, Skitty, and Horsemen era Loxy & Ink.

‘Abscess’ rapidly paces through and switches between rapid fire breaks atop a constant sinister tone and full-bodied bottom end. On the flipside ‘Momentum’ mounts a thunderous rolling assault of breaks, bass and distorted groove providing apt response to Abscess’ call.

Gone AWOL is my, bitesized, interpretation of my favourite ever jungle set - Randall with GQ @ AWOL - May 1994.
To create this I only used samples taken directly from the set -  whether it's pads, breaks, strings, GQs vocals, or crowd noise.

These sounds have come from dubplate, to DAT, to cassette, so as you can imagine the result is pretty lo-fi, which I think adds to the feel.

This started life as an entry into The Jungle List's 60x60 project. The concept of which was 60 different 60 second productions by members of the Facebook group, all stitched together. An idea that was originally conceived on Subvert Central forums.
