Here we have it. Our 50th release on the label - and we're celebrating the Hood Poli way by introducing a brand new artist to the label.

VDH, the young tech house don from The Netherlands makes a bold entrance into Hood Politics with a loud, attention grabbing track pair that puts the 'Oooo' in groove.

'No More' is pure movement, with a demanding bass line and clean, rhythmic percussion that let's you know it's thumpin time. Paired with old school vocals and synth work, this tune is an instant classic, approved by both 70's disco critics and future cyborg disc jockeys.

'Next Thing' follows a similar formula, focusing on extreme rhythm and an undeniable bounce. More dance hall percussion and clean vocal work tie this together as disco's greatest grandchild on a vengeance mission.

Of course, we had to get a celebratory remix in the mix, so we brought back the king himself. Ben Read is fresh off our most successful release of 2019, and he wastes no time in blessing this EP with a lethal dose of UK hop. A thorough bass line slides underneath a crispy palette of percussion, creating a deep foundation so the samples can shine.

This release is as HP as it gets.

The next instalment of our ever-growing Libero catalogue comes from Libero family members Rone White and Alessandro Diruggiero. The duo is building a dominant reputation in the tech-house world; receiving support from the genres biggest players and frequenting dancefloors all over the globe. Their ‘Join The Tribe’ EP is their second Libero release and the latest in a string of high calibre releases, further cementing the reasoning behind their stellar reputation. 

‘Keta Loco’ kicks things off with the raw vibe that we have come to know and love from Rone & Alessandro. Rolling rhythm and tonal percussion keyed in perfectly with melodic intricacies.

‘Keep Going’ piques a little more creativity with different velocities throughout. Layers of percussion are separated from the harder elements in the mix, giving a clear focus on the cadence that claves and castanets bring when implemented properly into a track.

The title track ‘Join The Tribe’ is yet more A1 work from the duo. Reminiscent of that Music On sound championed by Marco Carola; it carries an air of Italo flavour while very much retaining the strict Libero ethos of focussing on the flow-bearing percussive elements in the track.

Tying things up, Manchester local and hot prospect - REME - delivers a driving remix of ‘Join The Tribe’. Filled with signature flavour that has earned him serious kudos from the likes of Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati and many other taste-making names in the game.

Spanish DJ and producer, Bassel Darwish, makes his debut on Pirate Copy’s Kaluki Musik this month, with brand new EP; ‘Breath’. The Barcelona based artist has been dropping beats on some of the scene’s most acclaimed labels including Solid Grooves, Moan, Stereo, Great Stuff and Roush and he is a regular fixture in the Dance charts with heavyweight support from Marco Carola, wAFF, Dennis Cruz and Stefano Noferini to name a few. Kicking things off, lead track, ‘Breath’ is a grooving Tech House jam with chunky drums, bouncing b-line, rising synths and a hooky vocal throughout. ‘Like This’ completes the EP, packed with more punchy, syncopated bass rhythms giving the track an effortless groove and shuffling drums which pave the way for hypnotic looped vocals and playful percussion providing a tribal underground vibe.
