A one- take demo of an idea I've had kicking around for a while. The title is based on the rejection of the 'Ought Over Is' culture of modernity, as described by Zygmunt Bauman in 'Modernity and Ambivalence'. Order and efforts to control are described as inherently designed and, as such, are part of humanity's ever- failing effort to control nature/ life itself. Among the sought 'human nature' responses to such organisation, as embodied in historically documented social engineering attempts, emerges the notion of who and what is normal and what is 'Other'.  What ensues can be no less than reasoned acceptance by the 'Enlightened' (by the dogmatic directives of modern popular science) sections in socities of mass genocide. Influenced by minimal techno, Steve Reich and a general lack of dancing.

Is Over Ought

A song I wrote a few years ago. It's named after a bus which ran through Glasgow in my youth. It might still do. It was recorded in the back of a people carrier in a downtown car park in Ft. Myers, Florida.
