Thanks to the conservation, curation, and contribution of the original "OG" cassette recording of this particular evening by my close friends from back in the day, brother and sister Justin and Debbie Deleo, I present to you what very well may pre-date the just released "March 29, 1991" mix from Simons. Judging by the track selection, this was most likely from January of 1991, considering the plethora of records played were records that I picked up in Philadelphia over the holiday break at shops such as 611 Records, Tower Records, and Funk-O-Mart. Some of the more notable tracks featured here are the esoteric, afro-tinged late 1990 release on Strictly Rhythm records of E-Culture's "Tribal Confusion", the very first release of the collaboration of Josh Wink and my old high school buddy, King Britt, and, at the other end of the spectrum (because that's how we did it back then), everybody's guilty pleasure, C & C Music Factory's - "Gonna Make You Sweat" (Everybody Dance Now).

The last days of summer 2023

Two of our favorite producers have just knocked out a collaboration entitled Skies and suffice it to say, this one is a panoramic breakbeat masterpiece. The vibes are warm and uplifting as the melodic synth dances in a call and response with the bass synth line. There's a nice syncopated rhythmic element to keep things just a tad groovy as Melty and Seth lay down some champion drums. Can't get enough of this one.

Friday Throwdown (Progressive Classics) Live On CCR - 03.11.23

Chris' Wicked Wicked Glitch Mix is the followup to Helene's 58 And Lookin' Great Birthday DJ Set, which was recorded earlier this month sooo, consider this Part Dos, ha. This mix was recorded 100% Live, unrehearsed, and off-the-cuff OUTSIDE on the deck at Thirty 420, aka Chateau MoMo, on Friday, October 27, 2023, in Philadelphia, PA. Go Birds!! 

The catchy title of this set got its name from two moments of technical difficulty that occurred during the live recording. The issue was a loss of connectivity between my controller and my 2012 Macbook Pro; newly rebuilt but still with the OEM USB ports, which apparently, are no bueno, haha. When these two glitches occurred, the sync settings were reset, resulting in a slight dip in pitch. I can assure everyone that this will most definitely be the very last mix that I ever record on that laptop, considering the fact that I do also have a 2021 Macbook Pro at my disposal as well. I know what you're thinking, ha! WTFF!! In all honesty, my playlists were all sorted nicely on the old Mac and I was in a rush to start playing to avoid any possible noise ordinance violations (I recorded the set outside on my back deck).

Not to BOO confused with the genres called glitch, glitch hop, or glitch hop dubstep, and with all due respect, this set is a tech house mix, but not strictly so. Deep and melodic house tracks are sprinkled in throughout with just a little pinch of techno. Just a pinch. ;)
