For my upcoming Australian debut, this 03:hr:33min long audio journey gave me the opportunity to play with energetic dancefloor music, progressive elements, melodic vocal tracks, and leftfield indie vibes, and of course a few tracks accompanied with electric violin to describe the musical story. Playing such an extended set, I felt like hiding some unreleased music in between this never-ending romance with sound - so enjoy it with a good pair of speakers and casual sense of humour! Excited to present a unique set from @dunefestival that took place last month. For this festival, I was requested to perform a distinct style, deviating from my usual dark techno genre. Despite the challenge, the Sunday, which was also the final day of the event, turned out to be a special moment that made it all worthwhile.

Got an invitation from Strangers I didn’t know to play at a venue I also didn’t know…Well what can I say the Music connected us and we were able to enjoy a Night full of music, love, dance and deep experiences…by the way the "Strangers" are no Strangers any more :)!

"You don't know how strong the dark side can be."

This saying from a well-known science fiction epic is probably familiar to many of us. Even in reality, this statement retains its truthfulness. The dark side creates curiosity. The unknown what hides and opens only to the initiated. It is interesting because it is not good. And already we want it even more. In science, this is called the "Forbidden Fruit" effect. It goes back to the story of Adam and Eve, who could not resist the temptation of the forbidden fruit. The wicked and mysterious seem to awaken our primal instincts and seduce us. The dark is strong!

Othertune has tried to capture this fascination of the dark in his set. It lives from his synthesizer sounds, which lay over your mind like fog and pull you deeper and deeper into the darkness. Can you resist the temptation?

Bassi J, Italian by birth, turned into a global citizen through his wanderings. He started mixing in Hangzhou, China in 2012. He banded together with a group of students and created UAi - Urban Art Ideas – a concept of parties that would involve both art & music. These parties became popular and ended up being spread across several clubs in the Hangzhou area. With a great ear for music, his thoughtful, layered DJ sets are embedded with meditative and deep nuances – the end result is just as suited for a nightclub dance floor as it is for a private party. Although his music production has varied througout the years, the core message still remains the same: sparking soul-alike people through music.
