The title of the work is a quotation from one of Jonas Mekas's poems (from the collection "Diaries 1970-1982"). This text paints a melancholic, lonely state of being lost in the streets and drowned in the surroundings, in words, in oneself. This journey through unbroken threads of thoughts is like an endless walk through a labyrinth, waiting for someone to wake up from this gazing out of the window at something unimportant.

The sound dramaturgy of 'Unity' starts with the album title, which refers to the strength of remaining united and constantly rooted in the present and the surrounding space. This release is a continuum of the first cassette for Lontano series from February 2023, that now shows its second side into a “non-song” shape. Conceptually part of the storytelling, memories without a geographical location are energy of the whole creature, in an eternal and abstract way, as the record moves in its full length.
 
Passing through different emotional listening signals, without ever touching a clearly defined goal or target. Structurally sculpting a sound of electro-acoustic nature, no coordinates, whether this tends more towards experimental, research, or soundtrack music: a daily practice in recording, drawing ideas and intuitions with the sound media.
 
Recorded at WORM Sound Studios in Rotterdam (3, 6, 8, 10), in a small flat in Rimini (1, 2, 5, 7 and 11 together with Jacopo Buda's trumpet), while playing at Imbarchino del Valentino in Turin (9), a forgotten recording (4).

The piece - Lafken Kürüf - has been composed from recordings taken in the south of Chile in 2015. Mixing various sounds of the wind and the ocean, as well as glimpses of voices, those emblematic sounds from my stay there are composed in a short piece transcribing the powerful sonic landscape that has accompany me during the three months spent in the Mapuche Lafkenche community of Traïtraïko Leufu. The noise of the wind on the rooftop of my house and the rumble from the Pacific Ocean close by kept me from sleeping at night as i would imagine it coming out from its bed, like in the Mapuche Lafkenche mythology.

Things That Were

Dominykas Digimas is a young composer based in Vilnius, Lithuania. His field of activities are extremely varied stretching from contemporary and electronic, coordinating music festivals, to creative interdisciplinary projects. 

 His main creative interests are based on abstract, quasi-narrative ideas, which are contemplating a persons relation with their environment and their ‘self’. Upon deeper consideration he is often drawing upon psychological or psycho-analytical terminology, theories, and  often runs experimental listening practices.

 Dominykas’ oeuvre is based on strict musical structures which become an intermediate object between the idea and audio realisation. The pre-compositional material is constructed in two ways; firstly by creating a system/structure which corresponds the idea of the piece or producing research which will in turn create the architecture for the structure.
