Hailing from the current capital of craziness, Dommie's debut EP, “Cutting Through,” introduces a distinctively refined and immersive psychedelic palette, engineered for modern dance floors yet rich with textural depth. Conceived as a cohesive auditory journey, it weaves driving, hypnotic groove with subtle, unpredictable turns, creating a captivating and subtly disorienting atmosphere. This confident first statement showcases Dommie's skill in crafting nuanced electronic landscapes that reward close listening. The package is further elevated by an authoritative remix from Kontrapunkt label head Nikita von Tiraspol (SXDNS449), resulting in a robust and well-rounded first offering.

Premiered here, the title track is where the thesis crystallises into a mesmeric, floor-focused reality. A lean, insistent house pulse provides the skeletal drive, but the soul of the piece lies in its lush, psychedelic detail. Above the minimal groove, arpeggiated synth layers emerge not as rigid sequences, but as something fluid and alive – a cascade of liquid electricity that pools, spirals, and gently dissolves the edges of the rhythm. This is the sound of a focused mind in a state of elegant distortion, crafting a trippy, ever-shifting topography within the four-four framework. It’s functional gear for the nightclub's heartbeat, polished until it becomes a portal.
