Frazah, widely known for complex sound design and unique synthesis, has moved a bit further away from his commonly recognised sound and instead ‘Shanghai’ infuses the perfect blend between bass and house music.

Originating from London, Frazah is at the forefront of the young talent coming through the bass scene right now. After moving to Leeds in 2015 he soon stamped his authority on the scene, with releases and features on the likes of Rinse FM, Deeprot, Project Allout Records, Gassed & more. He recently launched the Krudd Records Label with his collaboration alongside Bru-C, track entitled ‘Original Sound’. Some of his tracks have eclipsed the 100,000 play mark on both Youtube & Soundcloud.

Having played his first headline show in Germany earlier this year and headlining Tank (Sheffield) of recent his stock just keeps on rising. He’s also been a familiar face of recent at the like of Antwerp Mansion (Manchester), Amusement 13 (Birmingham) & The Warehouse (Leeds). Not to forget Mint Club, where this time around a headline slot awaits alongside Preditah, Swifta Beater & Slick Don at 1Forty’s 1st Birthday. With My Nu Leng, Holy Goof, Skepsis & more already regular supporters of his music Shanghai is hoping to break even more boundaries.

To celebrate reaching 5000 Followers on SoundCloud, we've gone in a bit of a different direction this time and asked artists both old and new to the label to remix 4 tracks from the back catalogue.

Fork and Knife reworks 'Brain in my Way' by Tik & Smuggla into a Funky-Grime hybrid whilst Zemon reworks another of the duos tunes, '0800', into a 4x4 number. Fiyahman is on the remix for man like Thorpey, turning Powah into a Garage infused Bassline banger and Tik&Borrow take Wölfe's 'Charlie' from their Debut EP to put their Neuro-Grime twist on it.

1Forty has featured a selection of artists on the Label from its home in Leeds and now Sketchi can be added to that list. Starting off his journey learning to mix and produce at the age of 14 he gives a lot of thanks to fellow Bass artist, Mikey B. Growing up in the same area of Leeds a musical relationship was born thanks to their shared love for Bass & Grime music and Mikey has been teaching and mentoring Sketchi for some years now.

Taking inspiration from Mikey’s mentorship along with the artists he follows such as My Nu Leng, Taiki Nulight, S.P.Y, Dimension, Enigma Dubz and more it has served up a track of which all of these names would be proud of in ‘Hands Together’. Performing and experiencing different festivals such as Boomtown, Leeds and Balter Festival and at venues such as Motion, Antwerp Mansion and Digital has allowed him to incorporate those feelings from those moments into this record.

Leicester’s Tenshu has his own bass that can make you bounce, and ‘Bodied’, the four track EP, that is Wang records’ debut release, is unneeded evidence of it. The up-coming Midlands producer turns heads by energising bassline in a forward-thinking scope.

First track ‘Alive’ is club-ready and dark; brooding with bass. Lead track ‘Bodied’ falls from a powerful place straight through into to a dirty, gritty one – a banger that literally bodies. And ‘Difference’ again shows us Tenshu’s attention to detail when creating a bassline sound that looks forward into the future and ‘Listen’ stands out as a more progressive, leftfield-bass/techno inspired vibe. We’re in one of the UK’s most exciting sectors of dance music. And Tenshu's come just in time.
