Really nice build-up. It's kinda reminding me of Nine Inch Nails actually.

And the pitch modulation on this synth reminds me of Boards Of Canada. I shouldn't be comparing this to everything else though; it stands out on its own. Really nice track!

@delay-grounds could almost be seen to embody the plethora of electronic creativity beaming out of Bristol right now. Ahead of his devastatingly good Lapsus record landing, he’s provided a mix to further demonstrate just how fervent the forever cross-pollinating scene there is at this moment in time. Amongst material from fellow UK upstarts like Metrist, Will Lister and Boulderhead, there’s classics in the form of James Holden’s 10101 and early cuts from Randomer on LIES. His exclusive Bleep mix is loaded with his own cuts, ranging from interstellar ambient techno to menacing D&B beatings. When Chicago footwork vet Jana Rush sent us her exclusive Bleep mix, we were surprised to see it was labelled ‘chill mix’. Her 2021 masterpiece Painful Enlightenment is anything but; it’s a maniacal record that defies the genre completely, fuelled by discombobulated rhythms, disarming samples and unsayable darkness. But sure enough, Rush delivers a downright lovely hour of laid back beats with her mix, in which even 150+ bpm cuts seem like gentle, rolling bubbles when they underpin choice smooth jazz samples and expertly placed weight shifts from hooky juke and strangely amniotic synth adornments.

This is one of 3 tracks that were made solely by using the analogue synthesizer EMS Synthi 100. For each track, there was a single patch and the material was recorded live in one go. Rhythmical synchronization of the material was done by using the Synthi's sequencer. Simple live manipulations included putting a pin or two in and out and switching on and off the mixer channels. Additional panning of each individual channel was done on a computer. These tracks demonstrate the effect of extremely simplified musical material produced by using the not-so-simple sound tool (for the reference, try figuring out and programming a Synthi 100 sequencer:)). Tracks are named by the number of sequencer steps used in that piece. Recorded live at Electronic Studio - Radio Belgrade.
