This is the first part of the story of "A". A spy thought dead but captured by a secret Russian organization called "The Keepers" who over a few years extensively reprogram him to do dirty deeds for their purposes. This is about his first "task".

This is a piece I wrote and recorded in 2017, over an 8-month period from approximately March to November. I am extremely proud of this piece. It represents an absolutely back-breaking amount of work, and I can honestly say it sounds pretty much exactly as I had intended it to sound, from the guitar tone to the string orchestrations and right down to the mix EQ. In particular, I owe the string players a tremendous debt of gratitude for their performances. I'm also sharing this on Facebook and elsewhere for those who haven't heard it yet.

Mixing this monstrosity was a nightmare. By the time I was done I was literally crossing my fingers hoping my laptop wasn't going to catch fire and melt before I was finished; the Audacity session was ~3.2 Gb and my hard drive was starting to make funny noises.

Thanks to Danny Danzi for everything he's ever taught me about mixing and mastering, I learned more from him while working on "45th Street Blues" than I learned in my previous 8 years in college. No joke, that.

Thanks to Ross for giving the final mix that last little necessary push by stating the obvious ("Maybe just bring the lead up a little").

Thanks to Ender, Jay, Ross, Brett, Justin, Piney, Lou, Shawn, Viv, Ulnie, and everyone else who has always made Guitarwar a fun place to hang out, whether it be at 3:00 in the afternoon or 3:00 in the morning. (Are all guitar players insomniacs? Do we all drink too much coffee so we can play faster or something? Probably yes.)

Just another outlet for some of my random noodlings. Most of it is fairly old stuff (5+yrs or so), w/a few newer, unfinished tunes that are currently in the works. Looking for a new drum program to work with....been doing the Fruity Loops setup for too long now. Once that happens, hopefully some new stuff will follow.
