Rhapsody is one of my first substantial pieces and is mainly influenced by music of Rachmaninov and Godowsky. Many parts of the piece sounds as if it was an improvisation to resemble the tradition of jazz and to add to the variety and colour of the composition. 
Although, there are no tempo restrictions, my only motivation for each section is to freely express the surprising element of never ending chord progressions and constant change of musical material.

Fantasy Reloaded

This piece was an experiment between strings losing the pitch which resembles a person losing control over a day of her life. There is a hypnotic buildup happening throughout the piece which is to resemble the power of routine in our daily lives. We drown in it and there is no way out of it. 

For me as a pianist the fact that the pitch can be changed is fascinating. I like playing with it and pushing the boundaries. I like the mixture of the ordinary pretty image in combination with the weirdness and deformity of the association of what is beautiful. The deformation of strings in the piece is like the inevitable reality taking over our actions.

Grieg Piano Concerto

This piece was initially composed as a tribute to beloved cat sweetheart Lucy who passed away too quickly - only staying with us for couple of month. However, it ended up being an experiment which features the voice of the famous Cork based Seamus Kelly who is an industrial homes survivor. This is a first series of these sessions which will conclude with a film in 2024.

This piece was created by using and mixing sounds and beats to achieve the beat of energy.
While being embraced by classical music for more then 30 years I feel there is no notion of someone from a academic music circle who would admire music of Rachmaninov, Chopin and Godowski. This is a process of evolving so deep that it can be hard to recognise my own self.
This is a rebel piece because everyone (including myself) would not expect me to step out of the 'clothes' of acoustic music creation and have a craic with synthetic sounds and noises.
Maybe I truly was in a state of delirium.
