Dutch artist DØBER teamed up with Taiwanese bass producer RayRay to start off 2021 with a heavy-hitting, appropriately titled new release “Bounce,” out now on Protocol Recordings. Opening with intensive basslines and undulating synths, the track quickly ups the ante with a bone-shaking drop and catchy vocal hook by RayRay herself, who has been displaying her talent as a singer on her own productions for several years. “Bounce” is the perfect combination of both DØBER’s and RayRay’s signature sounds, which they previously fused on “Losing My Mind” from DØBER’s debut “Twisted” EP.

Franky Wah kicks off 2021 with new EP ‘Should Have Seen It Coming’, his maiden release on the legendary Anjunadeep, out 12th February. 

A four-track EP, ‘Should Have Seen It Coming’ opens with the lead title track, an emotion-drenched vocal cut pairing poignant breakdowns with the soaring vocals of AETHO. Next up, ‘The Last Stand’ sees the Yorkshireman shift to a progressive house vibe while maintaining the intensity of the opener, before ‘91’ again centers around an irresistible trance-inspired breakdown. Closing things out, is the fluttering ‘Boundaries’, a sophisticated, ethereal house jam that proves to be a fitting finale. 

Showcasing the artistry that led to the unison of artist and label, the skyrocketing DJ will be the next to take the reins on the iconic Anjunadeep Edition mix series, further cementing the new additions place in the roster. On joining the Anjunadeep family, the UK prospect mused: 

I've been into Anjuna since I can remember really. I've found the label has always struck a real sweet spot in my personal taste as their releases use a lot of old school elements with a modern twist which is essentially my sound. 

Franky enjoyed a career-affirming 2020 that included putting out a collaborative EP with dance music icon Sasha and dropping his debut mixtape The Revival Vol. 1, which included singles ‘You’re Not Alone’ and ‘Come Together’. The latter was nominated for Annie Mac’s 'Hottest Record Of The Year' and certified as her ‘Tune Of The Week’ and ‘Hottest Record In The World’ on BBC Radio 1, as well as garnering support from Pete Tong and MistaJam. With a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix now under his belt, he spent an impressive 10 weeks on the Radio 1 Playlist, 5 weeks of which on the A-List. The producer also made waves featuring in the globally renowned GQ Magazine in 2020, with an extensive feature focussing on the rising talent’s expansive repertoire. 

Going back to his roots, ‘Should Have Seen It Coming’ sees Franky Wah tap into his love of deep, melodic music and takes the genre into bold new territories.

Karasso and Gellero have made serious inroads in their short time releasing music, and they team up for the first time on ‘Drop It Low’, which comes via Generation Smash. Karasso is a regular to Generation Smash, with standout releases such as ‘Heat It Up’ and ‘Rock Right Now’ dropping via the Smash The House sublabel, and his debut collab with Gellero highlights the pair’s organic synergy in the studio. 

The intro ticks ‘Drop It Low’ along with unbelievable swagger, as drums and percussion build alongside the vocal. Synthesized elements are added gradually as the track builds. The beat has a tribal feel, with groovy percussion and synth stabs that make ‘Drop It Low’ undeniably danceable. Brass elements and interesting twists enter the fray in the main break, before the track drops again, harder than ever. 

Karrasso and Gellero have resolved to delve deep into production during recent times, in turn grabbing the attention of key tastemakers, including label heads Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack, David Guetta and Don Diablo. ‘Drop It Low’ is another fine example of both artists levelling up in the studio, and the clearest sign yet that both are on a path to success. Karasso & Gellero - Drop It Low

Heliotype is a man on a mission to create a fresh new sound in electronic music. Taking elements of house, garage and jungle, the Belfast-based producer curates a sonic palette that has led to the coining of the term “Balearic Bass”.  This is feel-good, melodic music for the club, the beach or the headphones with a distinctive Ibizan edge and has already had support from the likes of Claptone and Monki to Tiesto and Steve Angello!  His super strong debut on D:Vision ‘Saying Nothing’ was followed by releases on Anjunadeep, Nervous, Toolroom and Exploited and Heliotype garnered major support from across the worldwide DJing and dance radio community, including multiple spins on BBC Radio 1 with Cool Cuts and Buzz Chart entries. The credentials of this fast-rising DJ and producer are strengthened further by his skills as a radio presenter, demonstrated by the call coming from BBC Radio 1 to sit in for the legendary Pete Tong in December of 2019.  This saw Stuart “Heliotype” Millar fulfill one of his musical ambitions, with radio having been a passion of his for a long time.
