THE ULTIMATE SHOW
(original poem)

Life has staged the ultimate play for me.
Has thrown at me signs,
symbols,
and mythical creatures.

An intoxicating show.
A ceremony with eyes wide open
and an unaltered mind.
A rollercoaster of bliss and abyss,
a kaleidoscope in frenzied permutation.

I trust Life...
but my understanding can’t follow.
The circuits can’t hold the intensity -
not yet. Not yet. But soon.
Now, not only my core shakes -
Reality itself is infused with myth.

Is this a cosmic opus
or a cosmic joke?
This play moves too fast.
I can’t follow... yet. 
Not yet. But soon.

Are these trials?
Mere oddities?
Lessons?
Can I fail?

Am I in the play,
or am I directing it?
Is there something I must do,
or simply hold my centre
and survive the storm?
Be the audience? 
Unmoved observer

Archetypes are imploding in my life,
and I can’t decipher them.
Their meaning slips away

Should I pull the curtain,
silence the blissful madness,
and go back to my cave -
resume the inner work?

Perhaps the answers lie
in stillness.
In silence.
We’re closing the show.
I’m closing the show.
