I’ve been going through a lot the last couple years and I’ve put in a lot of thought, and I’ve shed some tears 
Caught inside this interconnected web the neglected parts dominate my head

Its been said before that war is good for nothing but here we are with the war drums pumping 
Humankind just may never learn to take by force is still absurd

but rich old men are pitching tents horny for violence they call it defense 

I can feel the fire burning in my veins 
Echoes of the fallen screaming through the rain
Shattered hearts and ashes nothing feels the same 
We’re lost in the wreckage drowning in the pain

in the end all empires die corruption builds as they fly to high 
sun melts the wings try as they might its not the time to go picking fights and telling lies and closing eyes makes it easier to tell you who to despise 
but it takes a moment to realize that real lies hate real eyes so tell me where is it this alleged freedom lies and be precise that freedom that soldiers are willing give their life’s that sacrifice is it really freedom or just another propaganda device 
but I guess acting in defense in a sense is innocent but the end of war is heaven sent 
probably a mistake to idealize glorify violence romanticize that taking life is anything other than fading light in an already to dark world 
nuclear exchanges because you know the saying goes war it never changes
