DJ Deeon is one of Chicago's greatest house music producers, period. One of the teachers, as mentioned by Daft Punk. His legacy is unbeatable. The original pimp! The original freak! The master of 909!

You just can not play a good ghetto house or juke set without DJ Deeon tracks. When I was first hooked on that juke music in 2010, DJ Deeon was one of the main taste makers even then. And after that I started digging deeper for the roots of juke - that 90s ghetto house thing - man, his records are one of the greatest from that era. And here I represent that particular era of DJ Deeon - 1994-1997 ghetto house traxx.

DJ Deeon styles vary a lot: from those child voice cute trax like "Originator" or "Hood Rat", to that oral sex traxx ("Jaw Work", "Yo Mouf", "Dik-n-Ballz" etc), to that "computer game" sound like "Gotcha" or "Barcodez", to techno style trax like "Rage" & "World War 3", to remixes of classics like "Work That MF" and "Let It Be House", and to those more jukey late 90s trax like "Whip Shake Ride" and "Git Loose".

Deeon was  a man of strong spirit:  he went through heart surgery, cancer and chemotherapy, lost his leg and been wearing a prosthetic, but was keeping touring around the world. For the last couple of years he had heavy heart issues and suffered a series of strokes. 

This mix is my tribute to the genius of DJ Deeon! Almost all trax are from Dance Mania records except maybe 2 or 3. All vinyl, baby!

This beautiful track gets a facelift courtesy of Tree Threes. Straight off the bat, the drums are driven harder, picking up the energy level while maintaining the distinctive soulful elements of the tracks. A great balance straight and deep house ready for any dance floor.

'Caipirinha' keeps the momentum going with a solid groove that is beautifully complemented by a spacey top-end and smokey vocals. Beautiful through and through. 'Our Place' makes use of atmospheric pads and synths chords alongside beautifully masked vocals that provide a floating track.
