Strange Fruit is a song written and composed by Abel Meeropol and recorded by Billy holiday in 1939. It protests the lynching of Black Americans with lyrics that compare the victims to the fruit of trees. The song has been called "a declaration" and " the beginning of the civil rights movement."

This is a homage to the original movement and the people who lost and dedicated their lives to it. Sadly these atrocities based on caste and race continue today.
