2 heads from different regions of planet earth meet for a sexy ass techno tech crossover killer original. The original is just that and is just as comfortable in a tech house set as is a techno set. Incredibly infectious .. The synth line that runs through just makes the track. 

Remixes

First up is Yin Yang resident remixer Gene Karz and Maller. These guys know how to make real techno bomb. Gene mixes up that synth line and creates a much more purist techno remix, again in his usual sexy great sounding mix. Superb.

Next up is Czech Yin Yang resident Miquel. This is simply amazing work and seems to be Miquel’s best work to date. Another crossover in the techno - tech house style. The bass line in this rework is simply captivating. Absolutely amazing job.

Next up is new Yin Yang geezers Pe &amp; Ban. Wow what another killer remix, they do this in their own style which is really heads down techno. This is also some of Pe &amp; Bans best work. Another killer remix to add to the other killers.

Lastly we have the new Italian star Uakoz. We asked him to remix this as we are impressed with his mixing skills and this is another killer remix. Another bomb to add to the collection.

﻿﻿Featuring three more raw versions based on original tracks from 2000 & One, French Fries and Rødhåd, DJ Edits Volume 4 arrives just in time for the festive season. Precision edited, endorsed and club-tested by Len Faki, the package offers yet another chance to delve into the record bag of the Figure label head.

2000 & One's 'Ethics' is a classic from the 90s that Len has been playing for years. Just the right time for a fresh rework for today's high-fidelity sound systems, this rolling powerhouse opens up with a crunching percussion array before the original's playful melody surfaces and the funk is laid on thick!

The jacking, positively charged 'Journey to Kepler' by French Fries is reworked here by Len into a storming Detroit inspired monster. Constantly building, evolving and mutating, it's a track that never fails to deliver a pure rush of emotions and endorphins every time.

Berlin mainstay Rødhåd's 'Mines Of Mines' gets the full on late night treatment from Len in this tense, broken beat reworking. From subtle layered bleeps and pads forms an extremely dense field of sound. The arrival of a low-deep kick drum formation creates the perfect transition track in this stand-out moment of hypnosis.

Donor, the Brooklyn-based artist, known for his releases on Stroboscopic Artefacts, Semantica and Prosthetic Pressings steps up on Sublunar with a brand new EP. The record consists of three original cuts plus a remix from the key figure in the legendary 'No Way Back' parties and 'The Bunker NY' resident Patrick Russell.

'Identity Revelaed' is the first track of the EP, an half-stepping creature clanking and booming like a steelworks surrounded by a claustrophobic noise that increases in intensity during its development. 
Patrick Russell, with his interpretation of "Identity Revealed", raises the temperature level pushing even further the noisy elements of the track and its thick atmosphere while the bassline takes an unpredictable route becoming something sparse and syncopated.
On the B side 'Lesser Forms' merges booming kick drums with finely sculpted industrial drones, everything is perfectly lined up until the last microscopic sonic detail.
'Forgotten' closes the EP, a tortuous path carved into glitches and twists where every broken beat hits with brute force and moves onward with a curious polyrhythmic gait.

Tresor is the pulse of Techno.  Always has been.  Thinking back to my last time playing at Tresor, some 21 years passed by since July 28, 1997.  So I wanted to make this set special.  Unfortunately, the batteries died in the middle of recording the set and it seems as if the levels were a bit hot.  A tracklist will follow.  For now I just wanted to get it out there.

Time sure does fly when you’re having fun, and so it is that we’ve already raced up to podcast number 200. We’ve managed to call upon a suitably large name for the honour; someone who has very much shaped the techno scene over the course of the last 20 years and continues to excite people every time he plays. That man is Surgeon. As a performer, Birmingham’s Anthony Childs was one of the first men to embrace and exploit the possibilities of Ableton Live and Final Scratch. His mastery of that technology made his sets even more improvised and innovative, and over the years he has never compromised his vision. He plays with a sense of devastation and destruction that explores the very outer edges of what is possible, while always keeping the dance floor absolutely locked in. It’s been the same since he founded his hometown’s first techno club, House of God, at the start of the 90s. 

As a producer—whether solo or in celebrated collaborations with Regis as British Murder Boys or Ben Sims as Frequency 7—he seems to be getting better with age. Right from his first EP on Karl O’Connor’s Downwards in 1994, surgeon has had a hard hitting, linear style that remains to this day. Recent years saw him return to a primitive rave style and incorporate the gritty industrial influences of his youth. But in 2018 he evolved again and served up what many consider to be his best album in years. Luminosity Device features a more rhythmic, playful sense of drum programming next to his meticulously crafted synths and enthralling sense of urgency and future paranoia. The nuance in his tracks is now as intriguing as the visceral power of the kicks, and it all adds up to an album that works as well on headphones, at home, as it does on the dance floor. It’s proper techno by a proper techno head. 

And so is the mix he has put together for us. Over 1 hour 45 minutes, the man calls upon plenty of pivotal names from Juan Atkins and Oscar Mulero to Donato Dozzy and James Ruskin. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way, so that zoned out passages of dubbed out drums are followed by intergalactic space battles and moments of synth laden intensity. It’s a testament to Surgeon’s skills that he can take you to such far ranging corners of the techno world without ever getting lost.
