Wormhole

Imagine you are alone, drifting silently amongst the icy wastes of the void. You feel nothing, as your flesh has become numb and frozen, but you are not dead...oh, no. Without a word, without a sound, you float peacefully past comets, stars and gas giants. Nothing here is hospitable. Eventually you give up hope of finding any liveable place to exist, and begin succumbing to the reality that this has indeed become your home. Just as you relinquish your grasp on that little spark of hope you held onto for so long, something catches your eye. Off in the distance, betwixt the sandy rings of a nearby planet, a shiny little object sparkles in the reflective light of the distant sun. Its silvery complexion sits in stark contrast to the insipid dust and ice particles circling the enormous hydrogen beast. You feel a gentle tug as the planet's powerful gravity field begins to pull you in. As you approach, the gleaming object becomes increasingly clear, only serving to feed the curiosity festering within you. At long last, you drift close enough to realize, this is no simple space rock, no...this is a ship. A long beam of light extends from beyond its dusted hull, enveloping you, drawing you closer. Regardless of who these beings may be, you cannot help the sheer relief you feel within.

For so long, you were lost...

...but now, you are found.

There is nothing, only the black.  You constantly feel as though you are being watched, observed.  Everyone once in a while you hear a sound, one resembling the timbre of the human voice...but there is nothing there.

You look around, glancing about your surroundings, only to be reminded of your eternal solitude.  There is nothing here.  There is no one here.
