Michael Locke was raised in South Florida and began playing guitar when he was seven. Michael’s father was a jazz aficionado and saturated Michael with the genius of artists such as Lester Young, Count Basie, Sonny Rollins, Coleman Hawkins, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Sonny Stitt and, Michael’s mentors – Ira Sullivan and Joe Diorio. Michael attended the University of Miami, majoring in Jazz Guitar. But then he heard the Blues! He found that in Blues music he could completely and freely express himself. He moved to San Francisco in the early 90’s and fell under the tutelage of his now close friend and longtime bluesman, Johnny Nitro. Thanks to Johnny’s encouragement, Michael developed his own style and set off on his own to front an electric blues trio.

The Ray Fuller Band was formed in 1974, evolving into Ray Fuller and the Bluesrockers in 1978, releasing a self-titled album on vinyl, and Fuller has not looked back since. Mastering his craft throughout the ’80s and ’90s, Fuller was quick to become the “go to” act throughout Ohio to open for iconic blues musicians such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and more.

MUDDY WATERS after witnessing an opening act performance by Fuller exclaimed for all to hear, “That was some hot slide boy, I could smell the smoke backstage!”

JOHN LEE HOOKER was so impressed that he took Ray Fuller as his special guest at his next show! Fuller released Something Shakin’ in 1984 and Damn Guitars in 1989, which was quick to become a top seller for Rounder Records, followed by Ray Fuller and the Bluesrockers Live in 1992. In 1995, touring paused with the demise of Fuller’s first marriage which ended in true blues fashion.

Fuller went on to release Pearlene in 1997, Twist of Fate in 1999, and in 2003 Live Rockin’ the Blues. In 2010, Fuller played his first overseas show at the Vodacom Ampitheatre in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and began focusing on his passion for slide guitar, playing in his own style which has been compared to and inspired by Elmore James, Hound Dog Taylor and even Earl Hooker (cousin of John Lee Hooker). Fuller found himself in demand with renewed focus on his unique style of “Rockin’ Slide Guitar Blues,” playing major blues festivals in the USA, Canada and Europe. In 2011, Fuller released Piece of Work on the Azuretone Record Label. In 2014 Fuller had the rare honor of recording Ray Fuller and the Bluesrockers LIVE at Buddy Guy’s Legends. In 2014 and 2016 Fuller crisscrossed Europe, with audiences demanding as many as five encores! In 2016, Fuller released Long Black Train in Europe a month early to coincide with his Europe Tour; its official release was in October 2016. Ray Fuller and the Bluesrockers’ new release, PAY THE PRICE on Azuretone Records, has a release date of May 28, 2019. Pay The Price shows promise to be the crown jewel of Fuller’s 40-year career. Pre-release reviews have called it “outstanding,” praising Fuller’s seasoned, clear vocals and tight rhythm section while, as American Blues Scene put it “leaving listeners both breathless and thirsty for more!

Formed during the global pandemic of 2020, Dust Radio are a rootsy, blues-driven duo, comprising of Paddy Wells on Harmonica and Tom Jackson on Guitar.  This band have already attracted the attention from the UK Blues scene. Heavily shaped by the blues masters of the past, their style is steeped in the sound of Southern blues, with traces of Americana and contemporary rock ‘n’ roll.

‘Problem & Remedy’ consistently serves the song with subtle dynamics that leave plenty of space. They let a lyric breath via delicate tones, undulating melodies and enveloping grooves, while reshaping their own brand of noir filled down-home blues and Americana.

And in Paddy Wells they have a harp playing lyricist with the technique and feel to bend his notes and fully realise melodic possibilities.

They have been described as “raw and rootsy blues” and like Moreland & Arbuckle before them, they focus primarily on story telling narratives.  However, unlike the latter they never stray too far from interwoven musical patterns that eschew relentless boogie or heavy riff led bluster.

Their use of eclectic wordplays and phrases, steely riffs and deep grooves operates in the same way a painter might apply different pressures to their brush strokes in creating their art. -

Singer, songwriter and guitar player Epi K. Paradox, originally from Chania, Crete, an island in the south of Greece, traded the sun-soaked Mediterranean to pursue his music career in London. Taking inspiration from the British Blues Explosion of the late 60s and early 70s, Epi K. Paradox creates his own brand of contemporary Blues music, while remaining faithful to Rhythm and Blues tradition. His music influences reminisce the roaring guitar riffs of Buddy Guy, Mike Bloomfield, Jimmy Page and Roy Buchanan, while his songwriting skills reflect on the revival sound of the Blues era.
After graduating from BIMM London and London College of Music in 2017 and 2018 respectively, Epi K. Paradox has performed in various venues in London including the O2 Academy, The Monarch, St Moritz Club and Fiddler's Elbow, just to name a few.

Epi K. Paradox - Love Is A Losing Game

Established about eight years ago and led by Lawson, the tight three-man band take their name from the song, “Boogie Chillen,’” which was made famous by late Delta blues icon, John Lee Hooker.

“We play a lot of blues,” said Lawson, befitting his band’s name. “But at a lot of the places we play we have to play classic rock and country, too, so people can dance.”

Despite his love of original music, Lawson allows that he and Boogie Chillen may summon no more than a trio of originals during any given performance.

“We do one called ‘Hammer,’ which is a blues-based rock song,” Lawson said. “We have one called ‘Back to Alabama,’ which I play with a slide guitar. Mostly wherever we play we’re expected to play covers, but every now and then we’ll throw an original into the show.”

Now, Lawson certainly neither qualifies nor touts himself as a long-suffering Delta blues musician a la John Lee Hooker or Robert Johnson. He’s an art teacher at Richlands Middle School.

However, he plays a wicked Fender Stratocaster, with which he rocks from a base forged in the blues. Include him more within the school of blues in terms of style that yielded Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jonny Lang than Muddy Waters and Elmore James.

“It’s definitely more of a blues-based sound,” Lawson said. “Even when we play classic rock or country, you’ll hear that blues influence. One of my favorites was Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I love the old guys like Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, too.”

Fittingly, Lawson and Boogie Chillen band mates Don Armstrong (bass) and Andrew Brown (drums) are apt to summon such blues staples as the Willie Dixon-written, Muddy Waters-performed “Hoochie Coochie Man.” Listen for Elmore James’ “Shake Your Moneymaker” alongside Vaughan’s “Texas Flood” and “Pride and Joy.”

“We do quite a bit of ZZ Top and Jimi Hendrix,” Lawson said. “I like to do things that nobody else does.”

As such, Lawson prefers to apply his own stamp upon tunes obscure and otherwise.

“We kind of make them our own,” Lawson said. “I never really play anything exactly like the records. Then I never play it the same way twice. We just take the music and go with it.”

The Robin Bibi Band was born in the late 90s when Robin was inspired to start his own Texas Style Blues/ Rock band after having worked as a session man with such arists as the Pretty Things, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Ben E. King and Helen Shapiro to name but a few.

The Band released their debut Album “Blue Thrash Therapy” in late 1997. Mainly blues standards with a couple of notable original songs thrown in. This album received AirPlay straight away from Paul Jones in his Jazz FM show and the band started to become popular in the live circuit. The follow up, “Language of Your Soul”, a work of mainly original material, was released to more critical acclaim in 2000. Since then – and 8 more albums and a DVD later – the Robin Bibi Band have established themselves as one of the UK’s hardest working and most popular bands in their genre and Robin had been widely recognised as one of the UK’s finest Blues / Rock guitarists!

The band have played all the major UK blues festivals and have toured in Europe, Ireland, Scandinavia and the USA! Robin is at present signed to Ashwood Records and has recently released what’s considered to be his best album yet “No More A Secret”, the first album of exclusively Robin Bibi originals. This album received rave reviews and extensive AirPlay including considerable airings on BBC Radio 2. It peaked at number 2 in the IBBA playlist.

How Unlucky Can One Man Be

With shows that sell out all over the world, Melvin Taylor is one of the greatest guitarists in the history of rock, blues, and jazz. He is often referred to as a guitar players guitarist. 

This self taught master was influenced by many of history's true guitar pioneers including - Albert King, Jimmy Reed, Wes Montgomery, and Jimi Hendrix.  He has appeared on the same ticket with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carlos Santana, George Benson, Buddy Guy, and BB King.

Melvin Taylor was born in 1959 in Jackson, Mississippi. His musical roots however have always been in Chicago, where he moved with his family when he was 3 years old. The proverbial musical prodigy, started playing guitar at age 6. Melvin was influenced and inspired by some of the world’s greatest blues players, many of whom lived in or near his Chicago neighborhood.


By the age of twelve, he was working in clubs. He taught himself slide playing, finger-picking, and flat-picking styles from listening to his favorite artists.  By the time he was a teenager, Melvin’s incredible ability and unique style was already grabbing attention on Maxwell Street. In 1980, he joined veterans Pinetop Perkins, and Willie “Big Eyes”  Smith of the Muddy Waters Band to form the Legendary Blues Band and tour Europe. Melvin made an immediate impact on the European circuit, and while in France, he cut his first two albums - Blues on the Run(1982), and Plays the Blues for You (1984).

Following his return to the US, Melvin recorded four additional CD’s for Evidence Music - Bang That Bell (1999), Dirty Pool (2002), Melvin Taylor and the Slack Band (2003), and Rendezvous With the Blues (2004). 

Melvin also contributed to two tracks on John Mayall's 2022 Grammy Nominated album, The Sun Is Shining Down!

The Beat Hotel

After a career as a local bluesman and blues promoter in Texas and Oklahoma, Gary Coleman found his niche when he signed over his first album, a self-produced outing originally issued on his own label, to the fledgling Ichiban company out of Atlanta in 1986. Since that time, both Coleman and Ichiban have made their marks in the blues field: not only did Coleman release half-a-dozen of his own albums, he also oversaw production of the bulk of Ichiban's hefty blues catalog, bringing to the studio a number of artists he'd booked or toured with in his previous career (Chick Willis, Buster Benton, and Blues Boy Willie, among others). A singer/guitarist on-stage, Coleman often took on a multi-instrumentalist's role in the studio. His music remained true to the blues and to theKing legacy saluted in his "B.B." moniker and in his acknowledged debt to fellow Texan Freddie King.

Coleman began listening to the blues as a child and by the time he was 15, he was working with Freddie King. Following his association with King, Coleman supported Lightnin' Hopkins and formed his own band, which played around Texas. Gary also began booking blues musicians into clubs in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. He continued to play gigs and book concerts for nearly two decades. In 1985, he formed Mr. B's Records, his own independent label. He released his debut album, Nothin' But the Blues, the following year. The album was popular and gained the attention of Ichiban Records, who signed Coleman and re-released Nothin' But the Blues in 1987.

If You Can Beat Me Rockin', Coleman's second album, was released in 1988. That same year, he began producing albums for a number of other artists, as well as writing songs for other musicians and acting as an A&R scout for Ichiban. Between 1988 and 1992, he released six records and produced another 30, including albums for Little Johnny Taylor and Buster Benton. Coleman continued to be active until his untimely death in the mid-'90s, both as a performing and recording artist, as well as a producer.

Just like Strauss' award-winning debut CD "Electric Blues" (Blues In Germany Award for Best Album in 2014), "I Go By Feel" could easily be called an international blues summit. On this fully packed, 60-minute plus studio effort his collaborations with Delmark recording artist Mike Wheeler and ex-Luther Allison drummer Tommie Harris add a new, more contemporary Chicago Blues influence to the guitarist’s repertoire, while Tony Vega's (Houston) raunchy slide, Sax Gordon's (Boston) muscular saxophone and The Netherlands’ blues harmonica export No.1, Big Pete van der Pluijm, contribute a huge amount of variety to Strauss’ straight-ahead, natural blues formula.

Strauss, who discovered his passion for the music of B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan and many others as a teenager in the 1980s, is “as authentic as any Texas or Chicago axe slinger around” (Gary Reinhard, WITR Radio/Bad Dog Blues, Rochester, New York) and has honed his chops over the course of more than 25 years of playing clubs and festivals. "I Go By Feel" not only confirms Kai Strauss' reputation as being in the top league of Europe's electric blues guitarists but also shows that the 45-year-old has evolved into a convincing singer, songwriter and producer in his prime, ready for many more good things to happen.

When Kai Strauss goes by feel, the Blues is literally in good hands.
