Why sunsets so attractive?

It is all about the objective laws of physics and the subjectivity of our perception of light waves. Colors change as the light wavelength decreases. Of the visible to us, the “shortwave" will be blue light. It dissipates much more than the same red color. Simply put, red light is scattered less than others, and blue and violet more. This explains why the sky is blue during the day, and at sunset, it turns red, and sometimes even red. And all because red is the most “long-wave” light, which can penetrate through the thickness of the air when the sunsets. The larger the atmosphere you have to overcome the sunbeam, the redder the sunset!

The sun, passing a circle in the sky, does not change in size. But according to the sensations, it seems that at sunrise and sunset, it is still 1.5 to 2 times more than usual. In the book of M. Minnaert “Light and color in nature,” this psychological effect is explained: the apparent oblateness of the vault of heaven. We perceive the Sun and the Moon at the same distance as the sky surrounding them, so the low Sun seems to us many times farther than the high. Since its angular size remains the same, we unconsciously attribute to the Sun several times larger magnitude. The apparent shape of the sky is a determining factor in the apparent size of the sun.

The train was very busy and each seat in the carriage was taken. Walking along the platform he peered in through the dirty windows to catch a glimpse of the faces preparing to make their journey far, far away. The station echoed with the sound of a neverending tannoy which groaned and groaned with more promise and urgency with each horrible announcement. It was as if they liked to prepare you for the bitter goodbye long before you cast one solitary wave into the distance as the train whirred away. This was the way of the world.

“When 2 Bodies Become 1” treads a fine line between raucous deep-house, balearic blues and straight-up sexy music. The opener “Raw Loop” channels classic Pepe Braddock vibes while “Moving Day” sounds like it could’ve come from the sonic experiments of a certain 90s house producer who loves to play keyboards. Lukas is a musician and singer first, which really shows on the flip side of the record – something which Mano Le Tough & Jimpster were very happy to support on a recent release for Clouded House.“Strange Beast” marries off-kilter chorus-kissed guitar riffs with a driving four-to-the floor arrangement while “2 Bodies Become 1” takes a step further away from house music to combine vintage new-order textures and shuffling deep-house. Lukas also builds digital synthesizers in his spare time, something which must’ve come in handy for “Bike Ride With U” an italo-banger closing out the record and sporting a very rubbery bassline. Time Zones is the dance music project of Dan Gentile and Jack Murphy. The two began making music together in 2014 while living in Austin, Texas. Their work is rooted in the appreciation of soulful house music and dollar bin disco singles.

The Vibe Shack EP wears its influences on its chipboard sleeve. Crackling litigation-worthy samples loop over an assembly of live (read: non-quantized) tracked instruments, including a Korg PolySix, Roland JX-3P, modular synthesizer, and a broken x0xb0x, giving each track that lively, human touch. Also included is a punchy Unknown FM remix of the title track. The tunes have been mastered hot by Benoit D at Perception Mastering for maximum dance floor impact.

Thoughtful and understated, the Vibe Shack EP combines witty sample-work, live instrumentation, and analog synthesis to create 4 sonic collages. By marrying 70’s soul and disco samples with more subtle classic house themes, live bass and keys, Time Zones’ take on a familiar palette manifests as fresh, inventive, and playful.

Averze - Perspective [CLIPP160]

Astral sex. Demon sperm. Alien DNA. These things may or may not have anything to do with this 2 track release by Italian producer Averze. It’s all a matter of perspective really. I mean, literally - the release is l-i-t-e-r-a-l-l-y called “Perspective”. It begins with the very practically titled “Averze #1” and has all the right ingredients - a euphoric breakbeat (which let’s be honest is the only acceptable kind of breakbeat), a squiggly acid line (yes, yes, ALL acid lines are great but squiggly ones are cute), rave sirens (tick!), and emotive pads gluing the whole damn thing together. It’s the sort of tune that deserves a repeat listen and you know you’ll be fond of years from now even when you think you're over breakbeats (let’s be even more honest, breakbeats are fun for a fling every now and then but you would never want one take them home to meet your mother). The EP ends with the equally descriptive second track “Averze #2” and provides a bit of yang to whatever ying was in the track that came before it. Opting for more subdued Detroit-y 808 beats (the best kind of 808 beats), stabby synths, ping pong vocals, and an almost wubby bassline percolate in perfect harmony. Great for astral sex, conjuring demon sperm or when you just wanna get on the business end of some alien DNA. Depending on how you look at it. Perspective, rrrrrrright?
