This latest outing on Multi Culti is a powerhouse of tribal-inflected tracks, eyes-closed percussive spine shakers that provide deep bass therapy as they excite the mind with cinematic atmosphere. If that weren’t enough, cult hero Nicola Cruz returns the remix favour with his massive remix of Brujo Wayuu.

Santiago Niño a.k.a HERMETICS is a Buenos Aires based, Colombian producer that blends traditional folkloric elements with astoundingly immense sound design. His first releases under the ‘Hermetics’ moniker came in 2018 on the legendary R&S, followed by a remix for Nicola Cruz on the latin-american ZZK Records. In the summer of 2020 his single ‘’Escaping Samsara’’ was released on R&S Records, hitting the top 5 on Beatport’s techno chart. Last year’s ''High Strangeness EP'' on Scottish label Optimo Music garnered support from a wide-range of DJs and this EP looks set to crossover even further.

Pandora

Emotional Response completes its 10th anniversary by welcoming Benedikt Frey to the label with a special release, a fantastic dub-psychedelic cover of Joy Division, delivered in multiple versions, including a wonderful dub-meets-prog reinterpretation from Lucas Croon.

An established producer for over a decade, with a releases for a myriad of respected labels like ESP Institute, Crème Organisation, Hivern Discs, Live At Robert Johnson and Serious Trouble, plus Frey’s own excellent R.I.O Records that is quickly becoming label to watch, it’s pleasure he joins Emotional Response with a fresh, but respectful remake.

Alongside PiL Ltd, Joy Division were the ultimate post punk band, the music, design and untimely passing of lead signer Ian Curtis, creating a mystique around the band that survives today. Opening their second, and final, album Unknown Pleasure, the song is a big part of their history. Frey’s version – with secret vocalist Carla Koller – offer a wide-screen retake, the dub bass and modulated snare wrap around lyrics, while haunting guitar adds to an unease.

Starting with a classic, but perfect Vocal Mix, there is an accompanying Instrumental that together highlight a propulsion and incessant groove, allowing the space between to herald the production’s beauty.

This is backed with a live remake by Lucas Croon. A label fan since his appearances in Stabil Elite, BAR and The Kloom, this Dusseldorf fraternity member continues Emotional Response’s long-standing association with the city. With celebrated releases on Aiwo Recs and Themes From Great Cities, his fireside remix begins as some dub-psyche odyssey before morphing in to a steppas-delight rock out that will capture the open ears and minds.

To close, Frey returns with his own Dub. Possibly the EP’s stand-out, this half step remix sucks the listener to the spaces between, as vocals dissipate and collapse within, bass bins distorting to distraction, the pull of a true and worthy dub symphony.

The "MEDUSA Ep" was released by Rodion on Roccodisco and contains two unique gems: "MEDUSA" and "SOLENOID". 
The tracks have now been reworked and dubbed by Alien Alien (the combo of Rodion himself and the DJ Hugosan). The relationship between Rodion and Alien Alien has been indefinable, ever since their "SAMBACA" anthem: osmosis, inspiration, metamorphosis. 
Here Alien Alien take Rodion's electronic glamour vision to a whole different level: slower, dirtier and even druggier. BPMs at around 100...

With hypnotic vocals from DJs Pareja (Comeme/Turbo), the original anthem Medusa is fed to the darkest of Caribbean nights, where primitive cumbia, scary voodoo and tribal magic melt into one in a freaky dance ritual.

The pluviale dub of Solenoid carries you into a wet and slow trip: a psychedelic moombaton piece originating from a forgotten sound system somewhere along the Amazon river .

The interstellar dub of Solenoid lifts us up through obscure planets and nebulas: hypnotic cosmic dust waves, which ride the tightest of Alien grooves. 

This music is the sound of the mystic on the dance floor, where body and groove become one.

As for this track, this is my first release. Everything is recorded in my home studio (drums, pipes, harp ..). The track was created quickly: in a few weeks,  with inspiration from afro music and this atmosphere
