Lo que está pasando no había pasado jamás, no porque lo que sucede sea inédito, si no porque nunca antes una escena había experimentado un cambio tan rápido en tan poco tiempo.

El stop and go que trajo el confinamiento hizo que los actores que promovían y copaban cabinas desaparecieran en un alto porcentaje. Más de lo mismo para muchas de las personas que llenaban las pistas de baile electrónicas de nuestro país. 

Con todo ello surge la siguiente generación con ganas de todo, con ideas nuevas, con menos complejos, más descarados, aparentemente más despreocupados y sin perder de vista la reverencia constante a la música, siguiendo está como eje troncal del movimiento. Han tenido el privilegio de poder ser los generadores desde 0, sin interferencias externas de sus predecesores atrayendo a más gente que nunca a los eventos. 

En este electromagnética analizamos con uno de sus protagonistas la nueva escena nacional, recorriendo cada puerto destinado al baile, sellos, productores, promotores... 

Aprovechamos el viaje para comparar y debatir, pero sobre todo para disfrutar del Power, empuje y alma de los Z; los nuevos dueños y dueñas de la noche.

Just mention 'Terrace' in a techno environment and soon someone else will shout "pioneer!" As Florence, Terrace (@terrace) and (half of) Acid Junkies, Brabant-based producer Stefan Robbers was at the flying centre of Dutch techno in the early 1990s.

Perks is Robbers' fifth EP for Delsin in a relatively short time. On the one hand, it contains his signature sound: melancholic melodies and complex drum patterns wrapped in outstanding production; on the other, Perks surprises on many fronts.

For starters, the overall vibe is a lot more sombre, the chosen route much more experimental. Take 'Model A', a dreamy, 12 minute-long meandering epic that nods to the kraut-infused electronica of Tangerine Dream and Cluster but at the same time proudly carries the techno DNA.

A fascinating return of a true pioneer.

The modular sounds add a sense of intricacy and complexity to the record, while the metallic textures add a raw and industrial edge that complements the softer, fluid movements of the aquatic elements. PREMIERE: Sabatoj - I.C.U. (Mike Parker Remix) [Katharsis Recordings]

In the latest installment of their VA Point series, On Board Music looks to a plethora of talented artists such as ASC, Polygonia, Morphing Territories, and our focus for today, Nuversion. Not a stranger to us at Delayed, as we’ve highlighted him before with a stellar Delayed with… mix. Nuversion, formerly Juliano, has delivered a dubbed out energetic number titled, Impression.

As Impression unfolds,  the bassline takes center stage, a deep and groovy force that pulses through the track, creating a solid foundation for the entirety. Delicate echoes and reverberations dance around the edges of the mix, adding a sense of space and intrigue as off kilter synths bounce to and fro.

Impression, and the rest of the Point E release will be out into the world on the 25th of August.

RANDSTAD is the producer and DJ alias of multidisciplinary artist Thomas van Linge. He co-founded the labels BAKK, RUBBER, and the PLAFOND series. RANDSTAD has released on fantastic labels such as Murder Tbilisi, Pinkman, Veyl and Body Musick to name just a few.

DJ Hockey approaches techno by intermingling layers of contrasting elements. Defining characteristics for his productions are grounded, thick, encompassing atmospheres often on the introspective side. Psychedelia is present in all of his musical expressions, crafting dynamic journeys resulting in playful and groovy sets.

With releases on labels Model Future, PPRZ and RF Records, DJ Hockey works to propel his interpretation of techno with his production work.

1. Red Giant opens the EP with gentle, dusty percussions, eerie atmospheres and cavernous low end sub. Delayed claps create swirling wind ontop of the steady pace.

2. Kuiper Belt is a tool effective at infusing a reserved moment in a 4/4 set, or making a transition from electro to 4/4 techno. Gentle melodies and hypnotic elements glide over the kicks and snares.

3. Andromeda is a scifi inspired 909 workout. Grooving toms, aggressive snares and spacey claps float around a vox sample while intensity builds from the synths until take off.

4. Starburst is a layerable tool with a strong kick and sparkly arpeggiated synthline which modulates throughout. Simple yet effective percussions provide build up and release through-out this straight forward melter.

Anyone who has been following this series knows that we have Chicago based artists littered throughout. A year ago, we hosted four mixes throughout the month of April from local DJs. Very happy to share an extended session from a true spirit in this community. I have had the pleasure of seeing Jarvi a couple times, in addition to sharing numerous dancefloor high fives. Jarvi is a fresh face to the Chicago house & techno scene. Hailing from Metro Detroit, she was introduced to the music at a young age. DJing has always been a dream and in 2013 with the help of mentor, Sassmouth, that dream became a reality. She is also a member of Chicago's Naughty Bad Fun Collective, a Resident at Smart Bar for Planet Chicago (along with Sassmouth & Pat Bosman), and can be found on the dance floor jacking to proper beats.
