UNMASKED SIDE OF DOOBAN X

Techno DJ based in Belgrade, originally hailing from Montenegro.

Purveyor of galloping, hard hitting, purely floor dedicated techno.

His style is  defined by abundant music collection, and boosted by obsessive search for more. The “X” is an abbreviation of ‘excavator’, which is an homage to the relentless track excavation ritual, that led him through deepest tunnels and caves of the Internet, over the course of 5 years. His meticulously curated track archive is ever-expanding, and ranging from 90s hard house and trance, ebm/industrial, tribal/hardgroove, and then back to the future and cutting-edge, hyper-energetic fast techno wave. Nurturing a deep passion for movies and soundtracks, while storing a huge chunk of turbo-folk discography in a distant corner of his brain, he experiments with unimaginable polymerizations, purposely poisoning his mixes, in an effort to create so called “mutant techno”.

In 2018, his 'baptism by fire' took place in Drugstore, the notorious Belgrade 'techno cathedral', which for him meant a long awaited bucket list achievement.

Dooban X is one of the founders of Kolektiv Base, a music collective from Belgrade, assembled by five DJs, producers and obsessive music enthusiasts. Sharing the same passion, but different background and experience, Kolektiv has been growing in the public eye through series of private after-hour events, taking place in their studio;  and  ‘secret location’ underground parties, scattered around hidden and unconventional locations.
