Michael challenged me to record of a cover of a song he likes (Mercy Me by Alkaline Trio) and that I hadn't heard before in 48 hours. This is the outcome.

Perpetual motion machine of self deception
fooling everyone around
destructive ideas cause intolerable futures
and no one can make a sound

Those that make noise are put back in line 
thru persecution and are stigmatized 
because in order to win you must play by the rules
in this game that we call life

fuck that, burn up the bridges and question traditions
like it’s your part time job

exonerated, clearly, perverse ideas enable a dystopia 
nuclear warheads launch at the touch of a button, at the hands of xenophobia

Where did we come from? Are we alone in space?
These mysteries we must embrace
