The party arrives in Kilika to see it has been destroyed by sin, Yuna must guide the souls of the fallen to the farplane where they can rest easy. This piece covers the beginning of the Kilika cutscene where all is calm and you can see happy families playing and laughing before the destruction.

Besaid Island is where Yuna was sent to live after her father Lord Braska died in the battle vs Sin. She was raised in the temple with the intention of becoming a summoner and succeeds. She is supported by her new family Lulu (my favourite) Wakka (my least favourite) and Khimari (neutral)

The party arrive at Luca where the Besaid Aurochs get for their last match with Wakka as team captain before he becomes a full time Guardian. Tidus meets Auron who he knows from his hometown of Zanarkand, leading to bittersweet memories shown in cutscenes.  Disaster strikes as Yuna goes missing, kidnapped by the Al Bhed Psychs. Wakka and the Aurochs secure victory against the Luca Goers, Winning the championship when the stadium is suddenly overcome with fiends. Maester Seymour saves the day by summoning the dark Aeon Anima. The gang continue to the Mi'ihen highroad

Luca

The party reaches the Mi'ihen Highroad after surviving the attack at Luca. The highroad has a very relaxed pace until the very end with the boss battle with the chocobo eater at the end . I wanted to capture that carefree pace the highroad has.

After arriving at Mushroom Rock Road the party meet with Maester Seymour once again. Seymour tells them of a plan to confront Sin nearby. The attack on Sin fails , resulting in heavy casualties. Auron tells Tidus the truth about his father. He is Sin, the news troubles and confuses Tidus as he thinks about his relationship with his father.

Djose temple is the next stop on the journey. The sandy mountainous area opens up to reveal Djose temple with floating rocks coursing with lightning. Yuna prays for a new Aeon to help in the fight against Sin. She joins forces with Ixion after completing the trials at the temple. Yuna spends all night treating the survivors from the Sin attack at Mushroom Rock Road.

The moonflow is another lovely but uneventful area in the game. The notable aspects of the moonflow are 1. we are introduced to some of Khimari Ronso clan, Yenke and Biran and 2. we get Rikku back as a playable character after a boss battle with her. Similarly to Mi'ihen Highroad the moonflow has a very relaxed pace compared to most other areas in the game.
