One Day We Will Walk Together ( ft Bysenses )

This excerpt is from an improvised recording which was created before Christmas 2014. Basically, it is two Oberheim SEMs controlled by two ARP Sequencers with some Mellotron (Resch M4000D and Manikin Memotron) noodlings on top -- this, plus the ubiquitous Compact Phasing A which I have grown to love over the past 23 years. This track was just recorded as a rough sketch to help me memorize the motif I played. I got a bit carried away while playing but I guess this little excerpt gives you an idea of what future ['ramp] albums might sound like. Enjoy, and thanks for listening.

It is very possible this is the only recording of this rare synth demo on the planet!

Whilst restoring the ex Klaus Schulze GDS (originally used on  his 1980 Album, Dig It) back in 2014 I found a number of what appeared to be demo sequences on one of the 8 inch disks.  These may well have been supplied with the instrument by the Digital Keyboards sales team or just may have been for a demonstration at NAMM circa 1980.

I loaded up and recorded this one from the GDS which was a nice demonstration of the instrument's multi-timbral capabilites. 

Released in 1979, the GDS was a groundbreaking all digital instrument based on Hal Alles' Alles Machine at Bell Labs and featured 32 high speed digital oscillators implementing a mixture of FM and additive synthesis in 16-bit audio with two 16 stage loopable EGs per oscillator, velocity sensitive keyboard, multi-timbral playback and a built in sequencer!

The name of the demo is a mystery - at first I thought it might be a reference to Nyle Steiner but he didn't think there was a connection.

Maybe the NY in NYLE1 stands for New York?... who knows!
