Focussed on a sound which caused a lot of us to fall in love with techno in the first place, he addresses a nostalgic feeling that isn’t often experienced these days.

1/ Who are you? What do you do?
A Swedish DJ, producer, and music journalist, part of the Swedish agency/label/family Parabel, and resident at X Malmö in Sweden. I’ve released tracks on my own label MOSH Musik and a few other labels as well, most recently at Lilies/BROR records and Brothers Black. 

2/ Are you inspired by other genres than techno? 
Absolutely! I grew up listening to everything but electronic music actually. The genres that really get me inspired are post-rock, classical music, and various forms of electronic music, like trip-hop, I really love trip-hop.

3/ If music wouldn’t exist, which job would you like to do?
When I was little, and before I really started exploring music, I told my parents I was going to work at NASA when I grew up, so let’s say, astronaut. 

4/ The naughty/improbable anecdote during a gig?
I did get kicked off the stage once. I was booked to play in a town (and country) where I had not played before, so I didn't really know the scene and the club, and the ones who booked me surely didn't know my music either. When I got the venue and started to play it took like five minutes before this guy came up to me and said that I should play more commercial stuff. I said no, and told him I was not booked to play that. Another five minutes went by, then the owner or something comes up and lets me know that if I don’t start playing commercial music I have to stop playing in 15 minutes. I didn't really feel like playing for 15 minutes or even one minute more, so I stopped right then and walked away. A 10-minute set – shortest gig ever.

Episode 17 is almost here and for this months show we welcome label owner, promoter and DJ, VOLSTER 

Based in Osijek, Croatia Volster is an artist I have admired for some time now. He first caught my attention with his “Out of place” label, a project co-owned with his partner Insolate. Since then he has gone on to achieve incredible things for in his career and for his scene. Including his first gig at the infamous Berghain back in September last year. 

His “TRAUM” events have been a highlight for the Osijek scene carefully curating and inviting some of worlds most interesting artists. 

His latest project, a solo run label called “Secessions” built purposely to project is own tastes in Techno.  With the next release due on November 6th where he invites the very talented Dutch national Hitam with 4 dance floor ready cuts that have already been gaining some fantastic support.

We are enlarging our digital series with another album by meticulous italian producer Evod. Ten virtual cuts of scientific bleepy abstract techno: Intrincated, complex, detailed, carefully crafted soundwise. A voyage to the future via dissonant harmonies and sound experiments, but yet danceable or playable by proper dj’s out there.

This body of work has been conceived to be listened to as a whole, to get into a time travel mood that brings you out of the currently absurd panorama.

About the tracks:

Cavita sounds like a sonar bleep sent outer space, repetitive and linear.
Dimensionamenti : elastic and liquid, still preserving the hypnosis via repetition.
Sfoghi D’Aria follows similar parameters, bleepy spiced grooves with a simple rhythmic approach.
Portate D’anima works with spaces and sound layers bringing the FX work a step beyond.
Forma Transitoria returns to bleep galore and liquidness.
Cera perduta is an alien march over a solid kick.
Cassa d’anima softens the approach, still keeping the tension that floats all over this album.
Granuli brings us to the best Detroit / Warp days of the early nineties with a precious 808 groove.
Zona Massiva is like the sound of filters making music, again liquid and elastic.
Forma Permanente is the last bullet, saying goodbye in a classic timeless techno vibe.

Glad to have such a talented person on board. There is still hope in this semi destroyed musical world.
