With Volume 13, we’ve got a really interesting selection of tracks coming from John Monkman, Robbie Akbal, Doomwork, DJ Nibc & Hans Berg, K.E.E.N.E. & Robosonic and more. We’re super happy with the musical diversity represented here and be sure to check out the stunning continuous mix by our brothers Julian Ganzer & Javier Logares.

Fresh from their successful Asia tour, recent remixes on Monza and King Street and appearance on Chris Tietjen’s ‘Zehn’ Cocoon compilation, Italian duo Doomwork make their Ovum debut with a trio of powerful rolling tech burners.
Reflecting their multi-shade style and influences, every chapter of the night is consummately catered for. 

‘Marmalade’ takes the lead with unfettered minimalism as a rolling kick/tom groove suddenly whip-slaps into full steam with a precision snare injection. Don’t get too comfortable, though, as the synth odyssey that awaits on the breakdown is coded in pure Italo positivity and guarantees serious lazer-reaching participation.

‘In The End’ showcases the deeper, smouldering side of Doomwork’s creativity. Igniting with a slow-burning drum arrangement before long yearning, dreamy pads enter the fray, stretching around the robust mid-tempo kicks to cosmic, hypnotic effect. A timeless recall to Twilo’s finest hours when the world was submersed in northern exposure.

Finally we hit their own Terraforma remix of ‘Marmalade’. Stripping back the drum dynamic into a palpitating heartbeat dynamic, the groove is gradually rebuilt with percussive elements and occasional majestic synth flurries peppering the spectrum when you least expect it.
Less of a remix, more of an original in its own rights, it concludes this accomplished label debut and adds yet more momentum for the duo who have consistently bucked trends and stood their ground since 2008.

Quartz Rec is pleased to welcome the duo Doomwork based in Rome and well known for them amazing groove, there music is emotive and immersive with melodies and riff locked into rolling rhythms and subtle atmospherics. And its with no surprise that they are coming with an outstanding ep on Quartz Rec, first track « Nihil sine sole » super trippy track with some great congas slowly and this beautiful pad building a great atmosphere. Second track « memento » getting more into deep techno with class, tracks talk for itself. We have also two remixes, first one is from Ambivalent who deliver a big stomper techno mix ready to smash the dance floor, second is from Ness who bring a driving techno track melt with the pad from the original who will make lose yourself.

Rooms is a brand new label looking to add some freshness to the global underground landscape. The first release comes from Doomwork, who have been making beats since 2008 and on labels like Cocoon and Ovum and play headline gigs all over the world. 

First up here, Cantico is seven and a half minutes of stern, steely techno for dark rooms. It has rugged drums and skewed synths bringing soul and scale and the whole thing cannot fail to carry away the dance floor. 

Second up is Notes of Desert, another big cut but this time one with more bounce. It has vamping chord stabs laid over the top and real grit in the hi hats. Slowly consuming mind, body and soul, it is a groovy but no nonsense number that will get the floor rocking in no time. 

This is a great way to kick off a great new label.

Italian duo Doomwork, composed of Alessandro and Claudio, have carved a distinctive and respected path through the global techno and house landscape for over a decade.
Forming in 2008, the duo rapidly moved from success to staple, initially drawing their electronic education from the burgeoning Italian scene around the turn of the millennium. This grounding quickly expanded to embrace the foundational, pioneering heritage of Detroit techno and Chicago house, forming the bedrock for their signature meaty grooves. This deep technical respect is expertly fused with a dynamic appreciation for stadium-sized dance innovators (The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim), resulting in a sound that possesses both credibility and a dash of accessible pop sensibility. Doomwork’s output is a slinky, sophisticated take on deep, melodic house and techno. It perfectly straddles the divide between the accessible and the credible, delivering emotive and immersive music where bold melodies and distinctive riffs are locked into rolling rhythms and subtle atmospherics. The duo’s philosophy remains: "Our music is ever-changing. We love to find new feelings from all genres and mix them in our personal point of view to give a depth touch to the tracks.”
Their career quickly escalated. Within a year of production, they hit the top of the Beatport Chart with the huge track "Jazzy Stuff," catching the attention of the scene's biggest players. This was not an isolated event; Doomwork has reached the #1 position on the Beatport charts several times. Their high standing was further recognized in 2010 when they were nominated at the prestigious Beatport Oscar Awards for the Best Deep House Track. This initial surge led to releases and remixes on some of the most acclaimed labels in dance music. Their foundational years saw pivotal releases on Holland’s 100% Pure and Area Remote (2000 And One), SAW Recordings (Satoshi Tomiie, Hector Romero), Tronic (Christian Smith), and Audiomatique (Steve Bug). Their acclaimed debut album, Club Abduction, dropped in 2012, further solidifying their position, followed by an appearance on Sven Väth’s Cocoon ‘L’ compilation. Building on this powerful legacy, Doomwork has continued to evolve and maintain an active presence in the electronic scene, delivering sophisticated tracks on key imprints like Audiofly’s Supernature and an inclusion on Nick Warren’s latest Renaissance compilation.
Looking to the immediate future, their trajectory remains upward: At the end of November 2025, they
released the “Winning The War On Error” EP on Jennifer Cardini's respected label, Dischi Autunno.
This release solidifies their current relevancy and dedication to sonic innovation.
Outside of the studio, Doomwork has consistently refined and delivered their stunning live set, performing at legendary venues across the world, including Barcelona’s Elrow 14, Florence’s Tenax, and Tokyo’s Air Club. While the dancefloor remains a clear priority, their creative scope has also expanded, with a burgeoning portfolio of work in the soundtrack area for films, computer games, and other media projects.
Their ambition is simple: “We'd like to be respected artists with a recognisable sound and a great live act show. To be a benchmark in the music world is our goal and to do that would give us great satisfaction.”
With multiple chart-topping hits, industry nominations, and a major new release on Dischi Autunno,
Doomwork continues their dedicated focus on making people move their feet, securing their place as consistently compelling and contemporary artists in electronic music.
