Am 26. Mai 2015 ist es soweit: Mit ihrem Projekt Define The Relationship nahmen sich Magda und NYMA das Werk “Love Will Tear Us Apart” vor, um das Original zu remixen. Das Stück ist das bekannteste Lied der englischen Post-Punk-/Dark-Wave-Band Joy Division. Das Werk wurde im April 1980, kurz vor dem Suizid des Sängers und Texters der Band, Ian Curtis, veröffentlicht (...).

Roaring through the mean city streets had left him a broken man. The late night driving was at first a selfish thrill but now it had become a compulsion which he could not control. Under the cover of darkness he revved his engine and rocketed between the other vehicles moving hastily with reckless disregard. The energy was nothing like he had ever experienced before, the rush was unrivaled. Klint was veering dangerously close to the edge and soon his car might just crash. 

Kasper Bjorke signs off 2016 with 'Klint' which was arguably one of the most club orientated tracks from his mini LP 'Fountain Of Youth' which surfaced last summer. It is paired with remixes from immense talent and both Multi Culti and Hivern Discs have contributed. It is the Marc Pinol remix which we bring to you.

Breaka usually runs in very different circles, producing footwork, juke and DnB from his home in Leeds. These are the first tunes of his at a slower tempo to be released but you can certainly hear those influences loud and clear in these certified UK 125-130bpm bangers.

In recent times Alex Pletnev has been firmly establishing himself with an array of works from from cold wave edits, through gorgeous adaptations of African music to tribal techno originals. He joins us as Pletnev for 'Aztec Code / Daywalker', a 12” that effortlessly combines his abundant and numerous influences in order to sonically transport listeners to far-off and unexpected places.
'Aztec Code' is purely for the dance. Inspired by the fat kicks and live bass lines of the Big Beat era, Pletnev works up a sweat with a jumping beat with African percussion and a charismatic vocal that seems to call out from between the lush palm fronds of somewhere steamy. Tenderly crafted with samples taken from a selection of original records, one-shots, drum layers and melodic licks are treated and mixed, giving rise to a warm, lush atmosphere.
On the flip, 'Daywalker' is a completely original, synthesised outing. A sleazy lead line charms and slithers upwards between layers of syncopated tabla, amid a sultry acidic groove. The tune spins and twists around this central Eastern theme, continually evolving as layers of detailed percussion and ad-libbed melodies subtlely intensify the tone.
Sound artist Eva Geist joins Fleeting Wax label head Mehmet Aslan to collaborate on a remix of 'Daywalker'. Here the pair intuitively create a sonic bridge between the two originals. Their hazy rework dubs out some electronic elements, adding contorted sound design, distant vocals, lo-fi samples and an Italo-esque bass, leading to a colourful and mysterious incantation.
