Audion "Destroyer" - Boiler Room Debuts

PolyRhythm aka North Bergen, New Jersey based DJ and producer duo David+Jonez+and+Val+Carrique make their Piston Recordings debut with the fantastic three tracker entitled No Politics EP. Having started out DJing at just 14 years old playing everything from mainstream Hip Hop to Reggae, the guys quickly established themselves on the scene. After a few years they found house music and flourished in the New York underground scene. The name PolyRhythm started out as their party name and soon became synonymous among party goers looking for their next event. They then adopted the title to produce under and since 2010 they have racked up an impressive list of releases across various top labels. Delighted to have this hugely talented duo on board at Piston. 

No Politics is a solid floor filler with a deep lush groove that will become the pinnacle of any set no doubt. This beautifully tweaked slice of deep house boasts an array of quality sounds, from powerful chunky kicks to warm chords and bright crispy, rhythmic hats. A very cool vocal sits over the sound adding a cool textured layer as the hypnotic keys weave their way through the groove locking us in for the duration. A real mover here and a must have.

Taking It Back intros with a bustling display of sharp percussions alongside a muted kick drum and rising keys. The kicks are beefed up into powerful punchy hits as the shuffling hats and percussions bring out the rhythmic flow of the track. A deep, probing bassline dominates throughout and draws us into its hypnotic groove. High pitched strings sit on top as mid range keys deliver rich textured layers. Quality deep house grooves on offer here that will slot beautifully into any set.

The EgoScene sets off with a nice chunky kick drum and sharp clap combi before bright crispy hats and various percussions come through. The track layers up beautifully building a solid rhythmic flow to the backdrop of a sublime deep bassy groove. Mesmerizing keys are locked into place as the pulsing basses do their thing. On the break we are treated to a cool spoken vocal that is accompanied by those warm keys and pads before the beats return and we are locked into the groove once more. Top quality stuff not to be missed.

JazzyFunk will unveil his second artist album. Stay tuned and enjoy the music!

Throughout the years JazzyFunk has produced countless releases with various record labels, and after his first debut album two years ago, he's back! He's ready to unleash his new second album 'Infinity' this spring. 

JazzyFunk's never forgotten his deep love for house music and after many music projects and collaborations he's ready to share the result of many year's of hard work with the world. 

The album has a unique sound as it takes a profound return to the the 80s. All the tracks are made with analog equipment, from Roland for grooves and drums, to Korg and Moog synths for all the arrangement parts of the synthesizers. A very nostalgic style that takes us back to the past, but with a touch of originality linked to the deep house scenes of the moment.

It is without question that 'Infinity' will be one of the best artist albums to grace the airwaves in 2020. The album offers eight tracks that we simply can't wait to dance away the night to.

Get Up (Stand Up)

Founded in 1988, Dopewax Records has been the celebrated work of 4-time Grammy nominee, Kenny Dope. At the time it was given to him by Frank Mendez of Nu Groove Records, one of the most ground-breaking Deep House labels ever to usher in the genre as we know today, it paved the way for Kenny's musical vision to take shape.

We've appreciated him for his solo productions, including The Bucketheads breakthrough monster 1995 hit, “The Bomb (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind).” We've revered him for his success with Louie Vega on projects like NuYorican Soul and Masters At Work (MAW). At one point or another, every single club on this big blue Earth has had at least one of his countless productions, either original or highly-sought after remixes for Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, Luther Vandross, Madonna, R. Kelly, Shirley Bassey, The Jackson 5, DJ Gregory, and/or Aaliyah, booming out of their stacks. His imprints, Kay-Dee and Dopewax Records have seen hundreds of original tracks. Thousands of DJs and producers have used his drums patterns or at the very least have been inspired by them. The sets at his weekly worldwide bookings or on his resident mixshow on Rinse FM UK, are never the same twice and have reached millions of listeners, hitting
far-reaching corners of the globe.

It's no wonder Kenny Dope has been on the forefront of Dance Music for at least the past two and a half decades and was most recently named one of DJ Magazine UK's Pioneers of Dance Music, in its 2016 25th Anniversary issue.

While his sister label Kay-Dee Records incorporates a wide range of Hip Hop, Latin, Jazz, Funk & Soul, Reggae, Alternative Pop and broken beats, and other revamped classics, Dopewax Records focuses mainly on Dance-oriented productions. However, Kenny doesn't ever want Dopewax to be stuck in just one lane. In the wake of the explosion of electronic musical genres, there are a lot of colors to choose from within. From techno, to deep house, to soulful, to tech house to straight up House. If it involves a set of decks and a room full of people dancing, that's the audience he reaches.

The true essence of Dopewax is that it's always been about the quality vs. quantity of releases and never catering to a disposable trend. Over the years, the label has amassed tens of thousands of fans while remaining relevant and tapping into a whole new generation who are discovering its music for the very first time.

In 2012, Dopewax welcomed V.P. Tracy Morales, who had been Operations Manager for all things Kenny Dope and Label Manager of its sister label, Kay-Dee Records. She envisioned a more artist-driven repertoire for Dopewax, whose electronic-based catalog was surging to new heights. With releases and collabs already out by such artists as the Brand New Heavies, Julius Papp, Cassio Ware, Kim English, Terry Hunter, Byron Stingily, to which Kenny also put his spin on, Dopewax saw its first Top 10 Billboard Club hit "Be Your Freak" by Kenny Dope and Josh Milan, bringing it to its next phase. Upcoming releases by even more revered and rising singer/songwriters and producers alike, such as Benji Candelario, Robert Owens, Tommy Bones, Man Without A Clue, Ant LaROCK, Greco (NYC), Sterling Ensemble, Gomi, and many others, have been launched with the intent to break House sound barriers and give fresh new quality talent the exposure they deserve.

Between doing a remix with Salt’n Pepa’s original 16-track tapes of ‘Push it’, classical training at a conservatory, playing 5 instruments, founding, releasing records and touring with Indie pop band ‘The Jeremy Days’ in the 80’s, experiencing first hand the birth of acid house, rave and progressive techno, while living in London and Germany in the 90’s, you could certainly say Triggerstrøm has a wealth of experience.

Ask him why that matters in terms of his work as a DJ and you’ll get an answer like: "Because it helps to understand oneself and, with that, the people you play for - oh, and because it is actually a blast!”

Deftly balancing a challenging, yet highly intuitive eclecticism, his live sets are founded in House, Nu-Disco, Afrobeats, IDM, Electronica and Progressive House.

“When I go out to dance, I am hungry” he explains, “hungry for love, freedom, movement and inspiration. If the music of that night feeds some of those cravings and with that those of the audience and listener, I consider it a great night"

His all time fave car that he owned was a white 1979 SAAB 900S and also the same color coded ADIDAS basketball sneakers that matched it. 
He fears the depths of the oceans as much as he finds humor in awkward situations due to cultural differences. 
The less-is-more approach to food, music, architecture and design turns him on. 

Bulgarian-born, raised in Germany. Resident the past 10 years in Los Angeles, via London, NYC and Miami. Played the legendary Golden Pudel in Hamburg and also entertains private events.
