"Anyone that knows me, knows that my main passion is music. I spend all day listening to music at work and my vinyl collection of 16k pieces greets me when I get home. I knew about Ghostly International before they contacted me in the early 2000’s and we would write off and on. They used to send me big packages of white labeled vinyl, it was decadent.

Late 2007 I got a call from Ghostly asking if I was up for designing a new single for Dabrye. It was a dream come true and I feel like I found a friend who really understood me. I have had the distinct privilege to design over 100 covers for Ghostly, and that is only the half of it.

When they asked me to do a compilation, I was all about it. I wanted to do three or more compilations because I wanted to segment it up into different sections (Ghostly, SMM and Spectral). It is impossible to reduce the entire label to 15 tracks. Ghostly is dynamic, they don’t fit one sound, genre or idea.

So I approached it as a mixtape of sorts. I tried to find a common thread that spoke to me and create a mood around that idea. Some of my favorite tracks are not on here. JDSY 'Horizon Line' makes my head spin. Choir of Young Believers 'Paralyse' takes me to another place. There are so many more.

What you are hearing some songs that have spoken to me over the years in a distinct way. I don’t feel like they are obvious choices but they all are nothing short of amazing. I hope this compilation helps you see a different side of one of the best labels to ever do it." - Michael Cina

Enigmatic Berlin­based producer Algorythm provides the debut release on the new vinyl imprint Neptune Records.

Initiating the package, stuttering percussion and echoing effects form the deep and mesmerising ‘Santos Express’. Syncopated rhythms and thudding bass hits then make up ‘LFO’ as twinkling melodies work their magic, before ‘Bird Cage’ introduces soaring chords and tranquil notes. Tying things together, thudding kicks and snappy snares drive ‘Omar’s Deli’ forward as various layers of serene synths and pads are blended together.

Debütalbum von Sascha Funkes neuem Projekt Saschienne, das der Berliner Produzent gemeinsam mit seiner Frau, der Sängerin und Multiinstrumentalistin Julienne Dessagne, ins Leben gerufen hat. Sascha Funke ist einer der großen Techno-Autoren Deutschlands und das Genie hinter den Bestseller-Alben "Bravo" und "Mango". Saschienne ist kein kurzweiliges Band-Experiment, sondern eine feste Partnerschaft mit Horizont. Bereits die ersten Tracks bezeugen die vollständig ausformulierte Meisterschaft auf der Klaviatur der Tanz-Emotionen, stets oszillierend und irgendwo zwischen gezupfter Introspektion und kompromissloser Hymne. Seine erste Single "Campus" auf Kompakt von 1999, verschaffte dem damaligen Newcomer direkt einen glücklichen Start, hechtete er doch im Gefolge der ersten Releases von Meilenstein zu Meilenstein. Jetzt kehrt Sascha zu seinem allerersten Label zurück. Nach 13 Jahren als Techno-Produzent hat Sascha, dank Julienne, die Freude der guten, alten Zeiten im Studio wiederentdeckt. "Sie hat mir eine Tür geöffnet, die ich vorher nie gesehen habe, und hinter der sich die Begeisterung und die Freiheit verbergen, die es mir erlauben, in völlig andere Richtungen zu gehen als zuvor."

She Knows is a spanish-brazilian duo with an unmistakable sound: a mix of 90's Pop and modern Dance music. Their credo - to take time for the beautiful things in life, in order to experience these on a deeper level - are mirrored in their music. Knowing this, it is not surprising, that the sound of She Knows, with its 10 bpm less than usual, noticeably sets itself apart from the usual club music. René Bourgeois and Sascha Cawa, who are integral to the scene with their many years of experience as DJ's and producers, each contribute one remix to this EP.

Ihr Credo - Sich Zeit nehmen für die schönen Dinge im Leben, um diese dann auf einer tieferen Ebene zu erleben -  spiegelt sich auch in ihrer Musik wieder. Mit diesem Gedanken im Hinterkopf überrascht es nicht, dass der Sound von She Knows mit seinen 10 bpm weniger sich spürbar von der gängigen Clubmusik abhebt. Je einen Remix steuern René Bourgeois und Sasha Cawa bei, die beide durch ihre jahrelangen Erfahrungen als DJ´s und Produzenten kaum mehr aus der Szene wegzudenken sind.

On Marc Holstege's 'The Boy In The Garden', melancholic strings rise and fall endlessly over a slow breakbeat and shimmering synths. But it's the soulful, contemplative male vocal sitting at the song's core that reaches straight for the heart – and won't let go again. 'Wolves (Sunday Morning Version)' is equally touching, as the Dutch producer guides another delicate vocal through a dazzling slow-beat arrangement with profound results. For their remix, the Italian duo Moonwalk then strip 'The Boy In The Garden' of its sentimental atmospheres, cunningly remoulding the vocals to fit their razor-sharp and cinematic peak-time sound.

Jaquomo's 'Replace Space' is sure to run on repeat. Here, Caro Mac's vocal incites our memories for those lost loves as it floats over pensive chords and a crunchy trip-hop beat. 'Close & Hide' is pitched-down piano house accentuated by another ingenious use of vox, making it just as moreish. Rounding things off with a bang, Fabian Krooss reimagines 'Replace Space' as a playful italo-disco opus of arpeggiated basslines and wonky synths.
