Born in Canada, brought up predominantly in Israel, and with the past year spent touring one end of the world to the other; it serves as no surprise that Dorine Levy’s new single ‘Lenyrose’ is an overflowing amalgamation of sonic bliss. Taken from the self-produced debut album ‘Underwater’, the stunningly produced record opens to a use of reverse and delay effected guitars that wouldn’t sound out of place on The National’s records. The track is, at the crux, a stupendous crescendo of epic proportions, not too far displaced from the likes of Explosions in The Sky, Mogwai or Sigur Ros; the vocal reminiscent of Jonsi, though with the charisma and charm of a very prevalently influential Bjork making itself known.

It is this much sought after intelligent take on indie-pop that has resulted in Levy’s remarkable success that now finds itself stretched over multiple continents, and has been the cause of a series of highly anticipated industry showcases at the likes of SXSW, CMJ, Indie Week Canada, Canadian Music Week and Sound City. Dorine Levy has produced a record with a great deal of substance that isn’t about to fall into the landfill of guitar bands keen to berate anything but themselves for the failure of any sustained success.

Following on from her cult opener ‘Crazier’ Dorine now continues with the second installment from her new EP ‘Mima’. ‘Feelings’ conjures a desolate, shifting intensity, but always in-keeping with her signature, polished pop vein. Like something from an Amoldovar soundtrack, ‘Feelings’ is a pensive, sprawling roller coaster of a release. Speaking on the track, Dorine states: "Feelings is a song I wrote while visiting my hometown Montreal, last year. It's about mind and soul loops: I was sure I had moved on from something but reality showed me differently. it felt like I was starting all over again but that's the loop's illusion; we never stay on the same spot, only our thoughts do.
