The Paris-based Mauritian artist GREG is without a doubt one of the French newcomers whose rise has been the most spectacular in recent years.
 Following his very first EP "Eau Coulée Smart City" released in 2021 on lavibe, he immediately found himself propelled under the spotlight: selected by DJ MAG UK among the 11 emerging artists to follow, described in a complete portrait on Libération as "one of the hottest talents of French dance music", the medias are numerous to want to discover the young artist, from France Inter to Radio nova or Pan african music, and his EP unanimously praised by the specialized press, from Resident Advisor to Trax magazine.

GREG became very quickly an icon of the new French scene that brings electronic music out of its classical boundaries. First of all for his impressive DJ talents, mixing outstanding technical skills and eclectic selections, which earned him invitations to Nuits Sonores (Lyon), Nyege Nyege festival (Paris & Amsterdam), and in most of the key clubs in Europe and France, including b2b performances with respected artists such as Teki latex, Kampire, Bambounou or Simo Cell. But he is also acclaimed as a producer, especially with his hit "Dembow Tronico" featuring the Latin Grammy awarded beatmaker King Doudou, which trigger a wave of Shazam requests every time it's played on the radioshow or a club.

 After a huge anticipation from all of his fans, the Mauritian artist is finally ready to unveil his new ep Jazz Net, on April 13th on lavibe.

 Gqom, Techno, Dancehall, Footwork, Bass music... with this new release, the young talent steps up the musical genres hybridation with even more subtlety, especially in the rhythmical patterns, making the tracks at the same time stylistically indefinable, singular to the point of not being able to link them to a particular scene, but always with the dancefloor in sight, be it at 130 or 95bpm.
Composed from his home studio, the 4 original tracks were then reworked in terms of additional programming and mixing in collaboration with the producer and sound designer LE DOM, partly at Redbull Studio (Paris).

And as a link with his first EP, Greg asked the godfather of the French Bass music scene Simo Cell (Livity Sound, BFDM, Temet) to produce 2 remixes of the banger "Dembow Tronico" released in 2021. The talented Nantes based producer delivered 2 new versions, dissecting the original track, injecting many effects (work on vocals, ASMR ...) and bringing it in a new dimension, even more DJ friendly, but still faithful to the basic track.

In 2016, NKC began Even the Strong with the intention of bringing together relatively new DJs and producers working at the crossover between tribal house, UK funky, dutch house, kuduro and other drum-heavy genres. Doing away with eclecticism, the idea was that the highly percussive 130bpm club sound that MM, NKC, Superficie, Tash LC, DJ JM and many others were playing and making would be tested, built up and developed in front of a solid crowd of dancers. At some point in the process, the term ‘hard drum’ emerged as a jokey shorthand for the sound, and has now firmly stuck.

These three tracks were developed in 2016 and became set-staples at the parties. The title track ‘HD Anthem’ is just that - a hard drum anthem - combining rugged tribal house hits, tuned perx pushed just off the grid, and the rattle of chain-link fences. ‘Next Life’ centres around a hypnotic crash processed to an extreme crescendo, before breaking out into a brutal tom loop. ‘Codeine Crash’ samples the robotic dembow roll of Akito’s 2016 track Codeine Claps, phasing it and layering with hard cracks to create a whipped back groove.
