Unattractive World

札幌の4人組インディ・ロック・バンド moo による2年ぶりとなる待望のセカンド・アルバム『Country Darkness』のリリースが決定した。

Apple Music の注目新人アーティストに選出され、高セールスを記録したファースト・ミニ・アルバム『Kite Flying Society』以降、バンドは作風を英詩にシフト。本作は彼らの敬愛する90年代 US オルタナティブ・ミュージック・サウンドにより近づいた意欲作と言える。

前作は牧歌的なミツメというキャッチフレーズのもと、日本のインディ・ミュージックと強く共鳴していた彼らであるが、本作ではペイブメント、ニュートラル・ミルク・ホテル、ガイデッド・バイ・ヴォイセズのようなオルタナ・レジェンド達の作品からの影響が強い。

彼らが『Slanted & Enchanted』聞いた時の衝撃を書き下ろしたのが本作『Country Darkness』であるとするならば、25年の時を超えその意志が受け継がれた。その音はどこか優しくて懐かしい、そして新しい波が起きる前兆なのかもしれない。
