This EP is a collection of songs on our soon to be released album. They have been posted as a collection rather than the usual singles due to their similar themes and tones. Particularly around loss and loss of youth. 

Lost In The Echoes

"Drink To Your Past" is the last track from "Alis Propriis Volat" the second EP from D.O.T.S. It continues the story from our previous track "Kia Mau" and sheds further light into our protagonists story. The original version of the song was written in 2018 and started as an idea using glockenspiels and xylophones to create a melody. The original music was written so that the instruments carrying the main melody would change throughout the track culminating in a group vocal at the end. The official song stayed very true to the original version with the main focus on being additional lyrics and getting guests to feature on the group vocal at the end.

Stranger In My Head

"Aisling" is the third track from the Scottish and Swedish duo DOTS featuring Morelle. The name comes from the gaelic word for "dreams". Musically the song began using the guitar sample from the beginning that Adam got in a pack. We used it as a basis to then build up the rest of the track with a heavy reliance on strings and piano built upon a "DnB"-esque drum part.

Aisling (ft. Morelle)

"Sitkeys" is the Finnish word for resilience. The track is inspired by space exploration and takes on a heavily orchestrated feel utilising excerpts of audio taken from the NASA public archives that are free to use. The song started with the simple piano part and was an exploration into using a mixture of orchestral and electronic instruments to build up in the same method that post-rock does to attempt to create a powerful sound that can hopefully inspire something in the listener.
