James Davis III AKA Dott So IL (Stylized DottSoILL or Dottso for short) was born and raised in the historic town of Cairo, Illinois which is nestled between the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio rivers at the tip of Southern Illinois, thus, So. IL of his name. Some of his earliest Hip Hop influences were Outkast, No Limit Records, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg and Gorillaz to name a few. He also list his father James Davis Jr. and the cultural influences through his hometown as a major influence in his music. After a series of life events, consideration of the times with new and better stories to tell, Dottso is preparing the release of new music. He often characterize his music as storytelling, fun and status quo.
